I’d kill just for the stock E10 battery weight 😂 The E82’s massive 1008wh pack is somewhere over 4.5kg alone. I’ll have to weigh it again.
Speaking of weight, they put these nice clips to secure wires in there, but they definitely could have chosen something lighter to make them out of.
What metal hardware are you referring to, the ones for the linkage and pivot points? What would you suggest replacing them with if not metal?
I’d be fine with more bikes adopting the removable but more permanent batteries like the LCE930, many of the Orbea bikes, or new Amflow use for example...
Used a dremel to up my hack job with the angle grinder and found some enamel epoxy appliance paint that blended in with the anodizing fairly well. With this section being something you never really see at all I’m fine with how it came out.
Not being deterred by lack of a proper milling machine, I went rogue with the angle grinder and took about 5-6mm off of the yoke where it was hitting the frame as a Hail Mary to see if I could make it work, and it fits the 210 with the 70mm yoke fine now. I’ll clean up the ugly but and maybe...
The E82 was definitely intended to have a 230x60 with the normal yoke, and it looks like that would fit fine with the 50mm yoke. The issue is using the extended yoke with a shorter 210mm shock which not many people do from what I can tell.
What’s weird is they sell it as some commuter (“SUV”)...
In today's edition of stupid things from Dengfu, I ran into issues trying to fit the bigger 70mm yoke for my 210 shock. The yoke on the right is the stock 50mm, and the one on the left is the 70mm; 20mm longer (Distance between the 2 yellow lines) to account for the difference in size between a...
I’m willing to bet they do that weight without any of the wiring and battery hardware which has to be at least 300-500g and they probably use a size M not L like I have. I did a quick search and it was earlier reported as being 3500g and that was when they only offered size M so 3.2g seems very...
Almost 4.1, yes. Is that above or below what you were expecting? If the headset and rear axle were in that would have added a bit. Wasn’t sure if those were normally included in the weight of a frame or not. Assumed no so I did it without. It did still have the plastic pieces in place of the...
Sucks they’ve had so many issues with the 971 because I agree they’re a good company making quality products and Jim is great to deal with. I think that VPP design attempt just had some fundamental flaws given how many times they’ve tried to fix it and they should probably just start fresh on...
After 4.5 months I finally have a frame, albeit with the wrong rear triangle thanks to Dengfu’s poor Alibaba listings and ordering process. Now I get to wait another few weeks for that to be remade.
@LAnton I got 9.01 lbs for a weight as it was shipped. That was no headset or rear axle, just...
I certainly don’t ever plan to deal with them again. Never planned to either, but used it as a fallback after a disaster with Lightcarbon waiting 4 months for a frame that kept getting redesigned. I’d still rather work with Lightcarbon based on this experience, at least they were informative and...
Thank you for validating my sanity here, you wouldn’t believe the back and forth I had with them on Alibaba chat last night. They were gaslighting me saying if I wanted UDH I would have had to specify that, and acted like UDH was “less popular” assuming why would anyone want that. They tried...
Yeah the sensor is what I’m struggling to find, I wonder if Bafang discontinued it or something, none of the usual places show it for sale at all. Can’t even find a part number.
After a lot of back and forth with the Dengfu rep at the conclusion of which we agreed to disagree, I have a UDH rear triangle now on the way. I never knew this frame was offered in anything but UDH, but apparently you can order it either way.
@_gregor I saw you had used the more traditional...
This is not a SRAM t-type, they mount quite differently, removing the hanger completely and having the TA go right through them. They are supposed to be compatible with any UDH frame though.
I just got my E82 in and am not understanding the rear triangle UDH compatibility... I thought the t-type transmissions were supposed to be compatible with anything that was UDH and Dengfu advertises this frame as being UDH compatible, yet there is seemingly no way my derailleur could mount to...
There might be some light at the end of the tunnel, my E82 has finally shipped and is scheduled to arrive next Monday, the day before I need to travel for work for 3 days :(
I also have my empty battery case on the way to see if I can make my 728Wh pack from the 971 fit in there and save just...
