It looks like they painted your battery to match the frame, is that anything special you need to ask for? My battery is in the mail but I just assumed they didn’t paint it because it shipped only a few days after my order and separate from the frame.
If your bike has an easily removable battery, one safeguard is to charge or even store it in one of those fire retardant cases/pouches. They're usually marketed as being for LiPo batteries because those are more temperamental, but they'd work just fine at housing a Li-ion pack like we use as...
There’s never going to be zero risk of a battery having something go wrong, so yes, technically. Charging tends to be when batteries catch fire, although with good quality batteries and chargers it’s very uncommon.
Interestingly, my 750 updated version doesn't have any such etching on the case itself, maybe that's one way you can tell old vs new. I only have the sticker. When I opened mine up there appeared to be a manufacture date stamped into one of the gears as well, but I'm not sure of a definitive way...
Yes they did change something with the gears to reduce the noise. Don’t think anyone has been able pinpoint exactly what, but there was some sort of minor change. Just because it’s a 500w doesn’t meant it’s an old loud one, but it’s more likely to be. You’d have to do some digging on when it was...
It is weird they chose to use a 36 and not 48v system, especially as a newcomer to the scene who should have been able to leap ahead of everyone else; Brose is just now learning the lesson finally and going to a 48v system after several years.
But I doubt it’s having too much of an effect on...
I really don’t get it when it’s random users posting it. If one of the admins who gets early access to stuff posts it, I get it. They’d be violating an NDA by saying anything about it I’m sure, but when some person who got some info from their LBS or some other means posts a rumor it’s nothing...
I see a lot of people saying this, but honestly, what in that motor would have come from a drone at all… It’s not like they took a drone motor or something and slapped it in a bike, this clearly would have been a new grass roots project for them that likely wouldn’t have had anything other than...
I would like them to but I really doubt it, almost none of these motor manufacturers want to deal with the average consumer. Imagine the support headache of the average Joe trying to figure all this stuff out, ordering the wrong thing, over torquing bolts, pinching wires, not understanding...
I don't know why they made it sound like their bushings were only for a Rockshox shock, likely just a lack of understanding on behalf of the person answering the Alibaba chats from Dengfu. I think the ones from offsetbushings will be of better quality anyway, so I'll stick to those.
I do have...
I wish more motors were available for DIY but it seems more of the manufacturers just don’t want to deal with it. The Pinion MGU would make some great DIY builds as well, but most them are going to strictly sell to bike OEMs, I assume a lot of had to do with not dealing with consumers for...
What size shock bushings do I need to fit the frame/yoke for a Fox shock? I haven’t seen the size spec’d anywhere and wanted to make sure I get the right ones shared of time if possible.
Edit: All I could find was a reference to them matching the E55 bushings and being a weird size Fox doesn’t...
Here is what I was sent, the person was described as a "customer" and the frame is all painted so I highly doubt this was a durability test of any sort. The reported jump that broke it was about 50cm high...
I agree with with you that it's great that they're continuing to work on it and open...
Seems like something very high speed with fine teeth, like a diamond bit on a rotary tool would be best to avoid snagging the fibers like a slower moving drill bit may do. I'm no carbon expert though, so don't take my word as gospel.
Yeah I don’t get it… Jim told me right around when I ordered that it was being strengthened due to “some customers reporting deflection in the rear triangle”. At the same time they were also switching around the cable routing through the rear shock area. At the time that update was supposed to...
