For anyone fine with light assist the SL is definitely the way to go IMO. It’s the silly power the DJI puts out that is making everyone go nuts. Not that you should ever need that much power, but it doesn’t matter, those stats sell bikes on their own. People just like saying they have the power.
I have a BESST but haven’t even tried messing with anything other than the speed limiter and setting the tire diameter (It’s ridiculous you need the tool to set the diameter). Are there any must-do settings in BESST Pro that make it feel much better?
Yes, you can change a few parameters for each of the 5 support levels in the app. It's not as fine-tuned as what is in BESST, but you can set percentage of max assist (Max current essentially) and acceleration.
No, that is not wireless as far as I’ve seen, that has a cable that just goes to the display, not all the way back to the motor.
The wireless part is from the display to your phone for the Bafang Go+ app connectivity.
Weird, haven’t heard of that. I did hear of an issue with the Hydra hub that they rectified that left a bad taste in many people’s mouths. Forgot exactly what it was off the top of my head, something with the bearings I think? But it was a common issue and they did address it with a...
I had my chainring off the other day and there is no writing at all on the inside, so I guess mine is some different variation than the ones that have the S2 on them.
Figured out my silly battery issue with the big Dengfu pack - Someone on Facebook said theirs did something similar and throwing it on the charger “woke it up”. It sounded ridiculous so I tried it, and low and behold it worked, couldn’t believe it. All I had to do was plug the pack into the...
Totally agree, my “750W” M560 can put out 1250W peak on Boost and it’s a stupid amount of power, you’re not biking at that point. 500W in Trail mode is plenty for me get up just about any hill and still get a workout while having some fun and that’s already in the realm of all the other current...
The specs would make a lot of sense and match what many of us were all speculating. They were seemingly ready to launch a month ago, had all the invites out, and then did the mysterious pull of the launch with zero info about why, right after Amflow sent shockwaves with their release.
Bosch...
i9 has some good sales going on now as well. The Enduro S Alloy is 343g less per set for a similar price point. I've been happy with my set so far.
Edit: Just realize the price point isn't all that similar, I had seen someone post a carbon set from Hunt on Facebook that was more in line with...
All e-bike batteries will have a BMS, that’s what handles the charging process, balances the cells, limits the current output, among other things. CAN allows for the bike to communicate with the BMS to learn things like cell health, charge status, cycle count etc. It’s a communication path for...
Really wish I had seen this frame before building my E82, strongly considering building one of these up as a Winter project, they look like exactly what I wanted that my E82 fails on: Better overall quality, a little lighter, integrated display, and integrated battery for a skinnier downtube. I...
