Yes, need to feed the cable out the seat tube to allow the post to drop, had the same issue with mine, there was no clamp, if I remember right, I just wiggled it down from the bottom and lost the slack into the frame
Guys, just living south of the border, I used to ride with a lot of lads in the Edinburgh area, great bunch of lads,
Best ever race, up and over Devils staircase,,, crazy
Followed by the return leg via the road which turned into a road race on mtbs.......great memories from about 35 years ago...
I’m on my 4th, latest one a very fast Scott Scale 29er, ends this month and guess what, the scheme is live again....
Must admit a 2nd battery would be nice.....
There again I’m trying to work out how to get an e- Sommet in December.....
Jeez, why can’t I stop wanting...........
How about a code to dial in when powering up..... ( bit of a chew on and I would probs not use)
Or
A steering lock in the headstock .........my Montesa 4ride has a neat little lock under the bottom yoke, which would stop it getting ridden away.
Hi .... like the fact your hanging onto the Whyte t130 c rs...I have one and it’s the best bike ever, ever, ever,
Love me e bike, but the Whyte is a keeper, ( did 30 mile today on it and it’s awesome)
Minimum I do after similar is....
Wash down taking care not to get water into motor/ battery area.
Dry off with cloth
Dry chain and brush on WD40 or similar, this cleans and repels water, on the stand run it up and down the gears. ( lubrication will be done later)
Dry cloth, the bike again with...
My son rides with 6th element wheels on his std 29 er enduro bike and they are very good..... talking to the owner of 6th Element at an event a couple of months ago and he was telling me he is looking at launching e- bike specific wheels..... maybe worth a look?
So, what colour you going for?...........
I’m not a great fan of the dull colour scheme and was tempted to do the same....can’t wait to see yours when it’s finished!
Like Gary rightly states, the 7000 is more compact, lighter? And only 10Nm down on the 8000, so I wouldn’t call it a “downgrade” ...just not the” full fat” version, would suit explorer type riders IMO
Bongofish, like you I picked up a vr e Sentier for under £1800.... you can’t really judge it...
Agree with the “treacle” syndrome ....when I’m fresh I don’t feel the 15mph barrier so much, further into the ride it starts to become more and more noticeable, this is due to fairly strong legs but lacking in stamina.
I do think however there is an element of psyhcology, I think my brain...
I think if you have been riding non e bikes for years then you will always have to have one or two in the garage. I love my e- bike, but there is something about having a blast on a light weight hard tail or full Susser, especially when you hit the 15mph barrier and it floats through it !
Picked one up last night, boy has it got some lightning output!
The up front mount is a lovely addition..... nice,
Much appreciate the in-depth report !?
Theres a good chance your dropper ain’t working from new is down to cable routing, did you drop the post assy in the seat tube when you were setting up the bike? Probs need to pull the cable to match the movement..... ( I had same problem on same bike)
