Used to ride in Thrunton a lot, destroyed my ankle there couple of years back and not really been back much since. It’s great if you like technicle stuff, but at my age I don’t really need the pain that goes with it. My son rides there often and loves it.....never rode there on an e bike, and I...

Vitus e Sentier VRX...... love it .....super slack angles , long wheelbase, ( front and rear wheels have different postcodes !) Just wants to make me ride like a tw*t, jumping of anything available,, hammering berms.....need to keep reminding myself it ain’t a full Susser ! .... and cost less...

Unanswered Is lower travel better for climbs?

100mm front travel tends to be with tight angles in the headstock ( x country bike geometry from a few years ago) Good for climbing as the front wheel is tucked well into frame so it doesn’t weave or lift..... however horribly unstable and require a different riding style, and tbh not that...

Answered Help needed - rear brake squealing like a Foghorn and vibrating.

I think a number of factors involved ( as already mentioned) but IMO the adaptor was part of the problem. Ny situation, fittings a 160mm disc sorted it Patreon’s situation, fitting 180mm disc sorted it Summary, 200mm disc is a no no on the Sentier. Sorted :)

Answered Help needed - rear brake squealing like a Foghorn and vibrating.

Correct..... and like yourself I have downsized at the back, down to a 160mm ( I had an Avid disc and adaptor available in the shed) and it is sorted.... IMO, there is no need for a 200 rear, it’s to powerfull for the h/t frame. ( and from an Engineering view, the 200 over time could damage the...

Answered Help needed - rear brake squealing like a Foghorn and vibrating.

It’s not a squealing sound, but a horrid vibration, I think caused by a powerful brake / big rotor, add to this the adaptor is tall I think 60mm tall......as an Engineer all adds up to igreater opportunity for resonance. Watch this space !

    Is this gap right?

I thought the same...... just got a Sentier 20” and I have the same gap. My mate has also just bought one 17” and the gap is a tad smaller, So the answer (right or wrong) is they are all like that !

Answered Help needed - rear brake squealing like a Foghorn and vibrating.

I had same problem, same bike, my mate also has same problem, same bike !........looks like the larger disc 200mm with larger adaptor is creating the problem. Biggest improvement I made was removing the tie wrap holding the hydraulic pipe to the chain stay....reduced by about 80% couldn’t...
