If you could start again which Ebike would you choose today?

My Merida 2020 e160 9000. Bought it 5 months ago now has 800km, only change is pedals and handlebar. Never missed a beat and fairly high spec components. Looked at a lot of bikes before making my choice and glad I went that direction.

    Merida eOne Sixty. Poor climber?

None of the 150 to 170 bikes with a slack head angle are good climbers no matter what the reviews say, if you want a bike that performs on the downhill you will sacrifice uphill performance. Having said that, an E bike will help to a degree and make it easier. I found you just have to improve...

Help needed, first emtb stuck between 2 bikes

My limited experience is with the Shimano motor. Only 500km over a couple of months but very satisfied and very easy to tune for the different modes. People say it's noisy, and yes you can hear some noise if you are doing a mindless ride or a slow straight uphill climb on a calm day. If your...

Help needed, first emtb stuck between 2 bikes

Depends on the circumstances. If you just showed up to a dealer and they offered a demo ride with a bike that wasn't fully charged wouldn't be too critical. If you scheduled a demo ride and not fully charged, different story.

Looked at the sealskin site. Do you typically go one shoe size bigger when ordering?

Will look into those. Cold is all relative ??, but then I don't mind riding in 35c when everyone else is complaining about the heat...

    Official Merida eOne-Sixty thread

The 900e is a great full spec bike but one would think discount would be more than 200euros. Also i assume you could sell the battery. Just a thought that while more expensive, the 9000 offers a lot in suspension upgrade for the money over the 8000, and would probably be cheaper than your...

Lack of e-mtb Choice in Australia

While we don't have some small volume brands, I think we do pretty good. I recently went through the exercise without any brand favorites. First and foremost demo as many bikes as you can. Some frames just don't fit. The Treks were the most uncomfortable, good bike just not suited. I...

    Shoes

While on the subject of shoes. Thoughts on the warmest, driest, flat pedal shoes. As we are starting to get into our winter which is typically wet and down around 5C during the day. Thanks

Do you use these as flats and if yes are they reasonably trippy?

I'm 185 but long legs and shorter arms. Went with a large e160-9000 and mounted a 40mm rise Renthal fatbar carbon handlebar. Extremely comfortable.

I've had my cover fall off. Lucky I found it on the trail. They need a small screw/bolt with a washer in the center of the attaching lug to keep the rubber in place.

    Choosing e-bike

I found the e160 9000 better value. Yes it's about 1K more but the upgraded suspension alone is worth it. Either way the Merida 160 range offers a great bike.

Motor failures: Am I making a mistake buying an eMTB?

The shimano Steps system has probably been around the longest and used in Merida bikes for quite a few years now. They have tweaked and improved it to the point where it should be fairly reliable. There is also rumor that the new higher power and lighter motor can be retrofitted to current...

Is There A No-Brainer Upgrade for eMTB

Assuming you purchase a bike to the spec you want based on your budget, the next thing is setting it up for comfort (excluding pedals which is always the first mod). First is setting up the ergonomics. For me the best improvement was handlebars with a higher rise. Going from 20mm to a 40mm...

Soon-to-be eMTB owner. Australian in Germany.

You absolutely need a Turbo Levo SL Founders edition for 16.5K usd.. ?? Look at the Meridas. They offer great value for money. Also if you move back to OZ, there is a large dealer network here.

    How do you carry spares?

Winter here wet and muddy. I've used velcro strap saddle bags on my bikes for last 20 years. Very slight wear on the rear of the post (3mm wide X 25mm high where the front of the bag contacts the post. Never had any issues with crotch clearance. Either weight bike or weight on the hips...

    E160-9000 Shimano Motor Cover

Yes it appears basicaly the electrical connections and wire bundles thst push out the cover. Quick solution: I am using black electrical tape stretched over the opening. Muddy wet ride today and tape held up well. No dirt in the space under the cover. Not sure how long it will last but a...
