Hi there, I just joined the Merida family with a new E160 8000 (2020).

I was undecided about the size since I'm 1.91.
The size XL is a little weirder than the other sizes but looks good anyway. Seems to fit me good, we'll see on the trails.

I'm also 1m91 and just bought a XL model 2019. The model 2019 XL sits between the 2020 model XL and XXL. My brother in law is approximately 1m85 and he bought a 2020 model XL.

I've had my cover fall off. Lucky I found it on the trail. They need a small screw/bolt with a washer in the center of the attaching lug to keep the rubber in place.

Straps around the battery cover? Have you had it fall off, mine did. Thinking of trying a coil if I can get it to fit the dpx2 fells a bit dead to me, still mucking around with settings though

I've had a really bad week. Killed 2x Di2 deraillers in a week.

Do a stump up the cash for a third one?

I love di2 and it's going to be hard to go back to cable XT but it makes financial sense.

Anyone gone to mechanical shifting from Di2 and what did you think?

I'm also 1m91 and just bought a XL model 2019. The model 2019 XL sits between the 2020 model XL and XXL. My brother in law is approximately 1m85 and he bought a 2020 model XL.

I'm 185 but long legs and shorter arms. Went with a large e160-9000 and mounted a 40mm rise Renthal fatbar carbon handlebar. Extremely comfortable.

Hey guys!
I see you are pretty active so I’m asking for your help/opinion. I have been racing enduro and dh for the past 15 years and recently got a kid and time is an issue.
I was about to buy the e-one sixty 8000 size large(I am 179cm) .I like everything about it. It’s not a top speck build but pretty decent and it looks super polished. Not a lot of things to upgrade.. maybe grip 2 damper and dh tyre in the back but that is it. The dealer that is a friend of mine told me that, since he has one 2019. e-one sixty 900e left he would give it to me at a good discount so it would be 200euros cheaper then the 8000. I am looking at the specs and it’s bang on. Few upgrades would include a 29 wheel up front, works angleset and I would get rid of the Di2 and the tires (dh). The thing is I have a spare battery for the 900e and I am planning this to be a bike for really long rides. The 900e makes more sense because of the spare battery but the 8000 looks betters and has updated geometry (slighty). What do you think? Your input as owners would measn a lot. Thanks in advance.

The 900e is a great full spec bike but one would think discount would be more than 200euros. Also i assume you could sell the battery. Just a thought that while more expensive, the 9000 offers a lot in suspension upgrade for the money over the 8000, and would probably be cheaper than your proposed upgrades to the 900E. When I looked at the specs, I thought I was getting a lot for the extra (at least in Australia). I currently have 500kms on the bike and love every minute. My only upgrade was the handlebars as I needed more rise (and the pedals of course?)

It's a Super B TB-1909 (bought in Switzerland). It's very good value and solid built, but you have to modify it a little to fit perfectly tires bigger than 2.3".

I'm hoping to buy the 2020 model but at 197cm I'm worried that it won't be big enough.
The closest store that has an XL is 3 hours away so I have't been able to sit on one yet.
Did you feel that the XL was to small for you?
Any other tall 160 owners out there?

I absolutely don't feel like the XL is to small for me and I even brought the saddle all the way forward to improve uphill performance.
I (at 1.91) could ve easily went for a Large.

My "little" brother is 1.94 and also felt comfortable on the e160 XL.

Obviously it then depends how you like your bike.

I'm 195cm tall and demo'd quite a few XL bikes before choosing the 2020 E160-9000. It's quite high at the front to begin with, I swapped out the stem for a 2cm longer one and with the seat as far back as it goes it feels like a pretty good fit for me.

Yeah no complaints, it's a great bike, capable of a lot more than I am or ever will be! Nothing beats trying one out for yourself though.

Are you still running plus tires on your bikes? I got mine used with 2.5 tires (which I assume are regular 27.5), don't really see the need to go bigger.

I'm thinking of upgrading the shaft on the Yari for the new C1 version and go 170mm, I guess that would roughly give me the same geometry as the original with plus tires? But don't want to lose climbing abilities.

Purchased a E160 10K a few months and with being out of work due to Corona I've been putting on some serious K's on my Beast. Love it! Just thinking of putting on a different stem but with the internal cable routing I guess it limits a little on which stems to choose from.

Just wondering if anyone has put on a different stem and which stems would work with the cable routing?

A few suspension upgrades for the eOneSixty 900
- Lyrik upgraded to 180mm Smashpot Coil + RC2 damper
- 29er front wheel running Minion DHF 2.5WT
-> roughly (phone app) puts head angle at 63.4°
- Ohlins TTX22 rear Coil
- e600 switch
- XT 4 piston front brake

First couple of rides have been awesome, traction is off the charts and still goes uphill alright. Just need to add a 185mm Revive dropper and some RaceFace bars to round it out.

Nice rear shock setup.
I am also getting ttx22m for same bike, did you use same mount hardware from originally equipped shock or did you have to get new parts? for ttx22m?

Could you tell me what model charger came with your 8000?
I got the EC-E6002 with my 8000 and I'm a little unimpressed with the charging times.

Have you looked at the Archer D1X Wireless Shifter?
Archer Components Electronic Shifting for Every 1x Mountain Bike
Had one for 12 months and it's been excellent - allows you to use any Mech you want so can save money if you are continually smashing them.

riding my eONE-SIXTY for a year now I made some improvements:
-FSA cockpit with carbon bar
-sintered metal brake pads
-Ergon saddle with carbon rails
-Giant TRX 0 carbon wheelset (tubeless)
-Vittoria Morsa 2,35 and Martello 2,6
-Garbaruk lightweight cassette
-Renthal 34T chainring
-Miranda carbon cranks 160mm

Changing the complete setup of the wheels was a metamorphosis! No more feeling of riding a school bus!
Increased agility and speed enormously and reduced rolling resistance. A complete different bike!

Hi guys, just bought the eone sixty 8000. Is there anyone that has successfully put an angleset on a carbon 2020 eone sixty? According to the guys at work components this frame does not support anglesets because the top headset bearing fits directly into the frame... sound pretty weird to me..

Yes but the stem must have an opening for the cable to go through. Some are closed. Anyway...all sorted with a new Raceface stem.
