Looking on the Merida website, noticed a new model e160-775 with a 745KW Simplo battery and charger. Should give a fair bit more range to those that are interested.

I use my credit card for everything where the merchant doesent add a surcharge. Pay it in full every month so never pay intetest. Mostly for the benefits.
Damage and Theft Protection for 90 days. (Used this a few times)
Extended Warranties for 2 additional years (use this fairly frequently...
My Visa extended warranty states motorized vehicles not covered So I assume ebike would not be covered. They do cover electronic devices like mobile phones and computers.
Just put a Big Betty's on the rear. Soft (orange stripe) compound. About 150km on them. Far superior to the DHR2 on wet surfaces like tree roots and leaves. Slightly better on the loose stuff. Slightly worst rolling resistance on hardpack.
Update. Sent a note to Shimano. They advised Shimano Grease for Shadow RD+ Rear Derailleur Y04121000 is not available in AU and to just to use their premium grease (the green stuff) so all good. Thanks to all for their input.
Whatever the cause, it's certainly not part of "normal" wear and tear. There is surface corrosion happening under the paint at the joint line, and is either a design or manufacturing defect that should be covered under warranty.
Decided I'd just use white grease for now. Yep looked like crap but cleaned up ok and working as it should. Going to let the bike shop know and if there are any issue will get a warranty replacement. Picture prior to cleaning attached.
Understand that but its just sticking when clutch is engaged, don't think it failed. For me its a 160km round trip so $25 in fuel and two hrs travel time. Lubing clutch appears to be a 15min job and doesn't require R&R which I believe the bike shop would try first prior to replacing the mech...
My rear derailleur is hanging up when clutch is engaged. I assume just needs a clean and lube. Shimano recommends Shimano Grease for Shadow RD+ Rear Derailleur Y04121000 which does not appear to be readily available. What have others used with good results.
Thanks in advance.
While all of these suggestions will help make it a better climber, you sacrifice downhill performance so it really depends on what you want out of the bike. Unfortunately you can't have it both ways and everyone has to find the right balance.
Not what you asked, but replaced my rear DHR2 with the new Shwable Big Betty. Went with the soft (not ultra soft) and handling was like night and day. DHR always lost traction on loose dirt, and roots (especially wet roots). Big Betty grip far superior on these surfaces. Didn't notice much...
Pretty happy with the Yakima foldclick 2. Tow ball mount easy on/off. Up to 58 kg load. Only issue is that it can be difficult using the arms to mount a second bike.
Just had similar fall about as month ago, stuffed up a small jump, not concussed but did a grade 2 AC shoulder ligament. Two more weeks of rehab and should be good to ride. Being over 60 takes longer to heal. Thinking body armour but Physio said it wouldn't have mattered in this case. Perhaps...
