Why would it suck to ride? my SL is sub 40lbs, with a Lyrik ultimate and Santa Cruz Reserve rims...i ride it in my local trails which has held EWS qualifier rounds.
I swapped out my previous Levo battery with the smaller one, the weight savings is significant and you def feel the diffrence going off drops. But in the end, even 3kg total savings off a FF levo.....cant come close to a SL
if you are used to and need the power of a levo...the SL is not for...
you will absolutely feel a diffrence. my manual trail bike is 4kg less than my SL. its totally different on the trails. i ride the 2 bikes alternately...but majority of the time im on my manual, its just alot more fun/poppy.
I use the SL whenever i didnt get enuff sleep the nite before (3 kids)...
Spez makes bikes for a global audience, the diffrent types of riding terrain/uphils/trails is limitless out there in the world. ppl who think the SL is underpowered are the wrong target market, its not the bike thats underpowered, you just arnt the right customer for the bike
Have owned 2 FF...
Yea. i have a SB140 for my manual fun...and i ride it with the SL back to back on the same trails alot. The SL is just...not right, it feels front heavy, seat is too high even when slammed, etc
Dont get me wrong, i still like it alot, but i think a SL based on a more modern geo would be what...
I have owned 2 previous levos and now on a SL. I wont go back to the FF levos. 35nm and sub 17kg is exactly what i want in a ebike.
The only thing i would ask for ..is for spez to offer modular batteries,..so i can remove 1/2 the batteries for short rides
well, im a Turbo ambassador for Malaysia, multiple meetings with the Spez SG HQ staff, which oversees ASEAN region, and i have asked multiple times this exact question, and the answer has always been 'dont mention it, and spez ASEAN will cover it' The refusal to give me a black and white answer...
only if you find that right buyer that does appreciate it...might take a while. i sold a 18 sworks levo(full ohlins coil/rxf front) and a 19 expert levo....honestly ...the lower price of the expert made it alot easier to sell
Agreed.
Also another point...when it comes to selling, if you are selling a sworks, ppl will expect the AXS, the carbon wheels etc etc that came with it....so you cant move parts you like to your next bike.
But if you are selling a carbon comp, all the money you spent on mods, can just be...
oh btw..depending on where u are, officially the warranty doesnt carry over to the next owner. only the 1st original owner. As a levo owner with 2 blown motors, i would advise u to really check your warranty status on the sworks
Fitness had alot to do with it. I didnt need the power and torque of the full fledged levo in my normal rides/climbs...so why lug around so much extra weight.
Just wanted abit of push in the longer stretches of climb, SL power is just nice balance.
My mate went from a 23kg bike that took 2 of...
why is that so hard to believe? me and my riding mate both got SLs because we wernt using the full power of the levos we had. preferred a lighter, more trail capable bike that could give us a ride as close to manuals as possible.
He had a 18 sworks levo, i had a 19 expert levo. we both much...
Our LBS Spez dealer got the first shipment of 2020 levos and SL this last 2 weeks, 8+ SL sold vs 2 Levos. If you dont like it, it could just mean you arnt the target market. The SL is for fitter riders who want less power and a bike that feels as close to a manual as possible.
I am ex owner...
