Swopping up brakes is pretty costly.
The RS has a swinglink
The RSC has that plus static position adjust (sometimes called free stroke adjust)
The standard Code R brakes are surprisingly good if bled properly. I come from super powerful Formula “the One” then the marvellously modulated “Hope T3...
I wonder if anyone’s fitted a 36T chainring to a KSL? As far as I can see the chainguide would have to be removed.
Wondering if there’s a way to have 36T chainring and a chainguide?
Also if anyones run a 36 without the chainguide. Risky? Carbon frame and all.
There’s an opportunity for an...
Hi jbrown
hi
So am I right that in the end you prefer the XTR 4 pot with galfer (green?) pads and their 223 rotors?
Or are you using those Galfer pads/rotors with the code r?
thx
Very useful thanks MetroNeck.
I’ll need a few watches to “get” it, definitely helpful. Could you perhaps post a link to that video so I can save it. Thanks.
Hi
Thinking of changing the rear brake on the KSL and wondered if anyone had managed it without dropping the motor and battery? Could you perhaps thread the new outer using the old one to pull it through?
I read about connecting the two outers by using a tandem brake inner because that’s long...
Did you manage? I read that you can get a tandem brake inner and thread it though your old (installed) outer and the new one then push/pull the new one through. The old one will guide it.
my LBS told me they need to drop the motor and battery to change the brake lines.
Sadly the links not working. Intriguing tool that. Do you know it’s name? What does it do? Pry apart the space between mounts for shock to fit?
thx.
aha google image search to the rescue:
“birzman disc brake piston pusher”
I had an mt500 a few years ago and the taping was poor. Came off, lots of it. Endura didn’t want to know. Directed me to my dealer but I couldn’t as it was handed on by a mate who’d had it as a gift (too big for him in the long run).
my sweet protection is good but they all wet out. Which...
Read back mechanic by Stuart McGill and get your day to day stability and positioning dialled. Handle the heavy bike carefully. I’m and out the car. On and off the work stand.
I’m in virtually the same position as you with stenosis (canal narrowing) and herniateddiscs. I hope an e bike will...
Note that changing shock length changes the way the lever works. So the kinematic changes.
It amazes me how so many shops can sell a brand new bike and advise (sell) a ton of upgrades to it. Shocks and forks are bloody expensive.
the bike designers took a lot of time to optimise the stock model...
