They’re just 10 minutes down the road from me, I’ve never actually been in before though. I may have a look over there when Boris says we can go out again.
I’ve been looking into this also. Will be easy enough on my Rail, just some T40’s to drop the motor, unsure about it on a powerfly, though. What year/gem motor is yours?
As much as I’ve read it’s plug and play.
I’ve been riding my EX8 for the last few weeks while my local trail centre is closed also. Just long the public gravel paths at 18-20mph average so no point bringing the Rail out. Still excellent bikes to pedal and very efficient but don’t half miss the extra torque.
It’s not being policed as far as I’m aware but there are no staff on site and all the facilities and car park gates are closed. They have ANPR cameras which could be used to record cars going in and out of the forest I guess? There are residents who live in the forest so the access is still...
Exactly this. I’d go for the 7, you can spend the money saved making it exactly how you want. You’d probably end up spending extra on the 9 as well if you got it, the same as we all do...
I found the same with the standard brakes, after trying a couple of different pad compounds I fitted a set of Saints and had zero issues, although I do like the look of the MT7’s also...
This was the mk2 version. The mk1 was made from thinner wall steel and wasn’t up to the job.
It’s just a steel cylinder with The teeth cut in, welded to a 1/2” socket, then turned on a lathe to smoothen it and buffed.
Happy to take some more pictures for anyone who wants to make one.
I couldn't find one either. I had to make one from a piece of cylindrical steel bar, cut slots into it and weld a 22mm nut onto it to be able to torque to 30nm. Didn't fancy using a hammer and screwdriver.
Yep. I posted about this last week. Came loose mid-ride, all the way off I fact. Luckily I noticed so I got it finger tight and freewheeled back to the car.
I’d maybe ask your bike shop to have a look at the battery mounts. My 7 battery sits a bit more flush than that and has never gone off, your two issues may be related...
Chainring nut / spider nut or other names...
Has anyone experienced their chainring nut coming loose?
Today is the first day my Rail has let me down, I had to cut my ride short today when I felt a vibration at my feet, checked the chainring and it was wobbling and the spider nut had come...
Excellent! From K-line down to the river is the best past of the forest. I used to dread that climb on my Trek Fuel, doesn’t bother me on the Rail anymore, although I regularly get called 4 letter words climbing past analogue bikes up there.
