A sound piece of advice, and you were correct. It was too tight and rubbed through and cost me another hose. It’s now got a longer length between frame and calliper. Lesson learned!
I don’t think it’s impossible, but for how easy it is to drop the motor I would say take it out. I’ve had mine out three times to fit a new dropper then the Kiox and it’s really easy.
My main concern was it coming off the bike when descending and not being able to find it.
I’ve fitted the Kiox kit today and decided to fit the screw holding it to the mount so I can’t remove it.
I’ve got a Kiox retrofit kit to go onto my Rail. I am wanting to be able to remove the Kiox when the bike isn’t in use, and not attach the securing screw to the mounting plate, but have slight concerns about the unit becoming detached when riding hard.
Has anyone had the Kiox come off whilst...
Today I noticed the noise in the following video. The first video is my Rail, second is the wife’s Powerfly. It happens at the same speed as I crank and doesn’t matter if the assist is on or off. Has anyone experienced similar noise?
I have a knock block Kiox mount in the garage but haven’t bought the Kiox kit yet. Arrived in less than a week when ordered from Wheelbase. Maybe worth giving them a shout?
@backcountry00 i did exactly that when I changed my dropper. Took less than 10 minutes. When you’re putting the newly reattached seatpost back in push the post down the seat tube and pull the cable back into the battery compartment at the same time and it should keep it loose enough not to make...
You should be able to fish the cable out without dropping the motor. Remove the seat post. Remove the battery and the cable clamps in the battery compartment. Remove the remote and push the cable as far into the battery compartment as possible from the remote end so there is a load of slack...
Cleaned of any grit and grime then wet/dry lube depending on the weather. The last chain was working and shifting fine but was worn between 0.5 and 0.75. It’s now in my ride box to keep as a spare for if I ever snap a chain mid ride.
How often are people replacing chains/tyres etc on their Rails?
I've replaced my chain and rear tyre after only 400 miles. Chain is cleaned and lubed after every ride.
Is this the same as everyone else or do I need to treat it a bit better?
