I briefly tested this with my Canyon Spectral:ON (EP8, 8036 battery, EN100 control unit) and it connects fine with Fenix 6s solar ver 20.30. I will report further testing on my ride from work to home today. The assist detection also seem to work (off, eco, trail, boost, walk)
Without premium, I...
I've got mine on the right side and looks pretty clean in my opinion. I could move it closer to the frame if I want. I've got better looking cable wraps on the way, these are a tad bit too large.
Comes with the territory (Finland). Its fun to ride these winter singletracks but it takes a while to form and compact for them to be ridable with regular (not fat) tyres. Nice contrast to summer.
I've ridden -10 to -15 C and there is some battery capacity loss. But the trails are so flowy now that the snow has covered all the roots and rocks and frozen solid. So rolling resistance has decreased but not enough to compensate for the cold weather effect on the battery.
Yesterday I went out...
I tested with shimano 8036 battery and when the led is solid green, the charger doesn't draw any power so no balancing is happening at this stage. So charging is complete once the led is solid green.
I suggest to read the shimano manuals.
I think the only E-bike specific parts that are worthwhile, are the motor, battery and controls. Maybe some handlebars that allow internal routing of cables to make the cockpit neater.
All well and good, but that requires both a tool in the axle and chainring that has fixing bolts. That rear axle tool is merida specific thing and some ebikes dont have any bolts on the spider because the chainring is one-piece construction.
Just take a hook and loop and tie the crank to the spider. Works fine. Remove battery while doing this. I've noticed on EP8 that spinning the chainring backwards powers up the bike for some reason. Maybe the motor is acting like generator and wakes the battery?
The E7000 has profiles too.
But yes I agree on the part that it's kind of silly they have to use an adapter cable (SD300->SD50) in order to use this display on EP8 motor. But I accept this since it lowers the price of the bike and doesn't really take anything away from the functionality of the...
If change my switch to SHIMANO Steps SW-E6000 (3 button switch), can I use the 3rd button with EN100 to turn on bike lights? Now I have to reach down where the EN100 is and long press the mode button in order to do so.
EDIT: Well I ordered and tested but sadly it doesn't work. The assit buttons...
What bushings are you talking about? Shock bushings? The upper bushing is 8x20mm. Lower doesnt need any. You can take the bushings from the original shock.
What it so bad about the E7000 display? No colors? So what? I think any display that doesnt show for example, a map, is not even needed in EMTB. Maybe I'm different but I like clean cockpit with something like EN-EW100.
And the casette. SLX vs XT casette is 60g different in weight.
Intersting bike. My question is pointed to the non drive side. The frame seems to cover the motor accessory connections. So adding the light or changing the speed sensor or display cable requires you to drop the motor.
Also I wonder about that seat tube, how long dropper will that fit? Why not...
Generally sealants wont freeze unless the tempreture is more than -20 degrees C. What sealant are you using?
Also, suspension gets softer and rebound damping gets slower in cold weather due to air pressure drop and oil thickening.
A little frozen sea adventure before hitting the frozen trails. Snow is not a problem. With snow covering the ground, everything is now a flow trail. A little slippery at times but that adds to the excitement.
