Never felt the need to clean them in ipa. I just let them sit in fresh oil while I clean up the rest of the fork. They are a pita to get to seat though once they’re heavy with oil. TBH if they are dirty enough to need a good clean then it’s probsbly time to replace them anyway. If you don’t ride...
Recommended amount is lube in each leg is 10ml (two teaspoonfuls) not exactly a huge amount as it is. Did mine a couple of months after buying the bike and seals were pretty dry as well.
First ride after service is amazing, can’t beat a good bit of lube. Remember not to skimp on the SRAM...
I think it is. I already drain my 625w battery on longer rides, no way would I want to go smaller or I would be seriously restricted to eco or tour for the majority of the ride. Where’s the fun in that?
Family commitments have stopped me riding for the last few weeks, but managed to escape to the garage for a bit of man time this morning. Choose my bike specs to try to stay within the same parts ecosystem, currently Sram and Rockshox. For full sus I also like the playful feel of 27.5 wheels...
Yup. I just want a mini Purion. Small rocker switch for the mode and a small display for battery percentage/range and mode. Don’t need speedo or odometer. Certainly don’t want anything the size of a Kiox.
Given it say in the article that season 9 and 10 Moustache bikes with gen 4 can be upgraded, I can’t see why technically it can’t be done. Only issue would be if Moustache has proprietary rights to the software. Could be only their dealers would be provided with the necessary firmware updates...
Better damper, assuming forks are in good condition. Lyriks are hardly flexy. I can’t tell difference between Pike and Yari stiffness on two of my bikes, but I can tell difference in the dampers.
What did you guys not like about it?
Admittedly I’m a 27.5 e150, but I was actually quite impressed by the shock for its spec. My first modern Rockshox rear shock, been on Fox for last 20 years. I’m 100kg with riding gear and usually find I’m maxed out on rebound setting and have to add a heap...
I’m 5’9 and on the cusp of m/l as always. I’ve short legs and long torso so usually size up to a large. This time I went for a medium (e150). Very similar size to the large Santa Cruz I have. Seated reach felt a little short at first compared to my other bikes but I think it’s because the seat...
I’m not that fussed by the contact point adjustment, it’s just another area to catch air when bleeding them. You soon get used to where each brake bites. I do think the swing link part of the better lever does make a difference. Slight increase in power but a good bit better feel.
Depends on how you ride and how much you weigh. I’m 98kg and definitely find older 2 pots lacking compared to modern 4 pots. Living in Scotland I tend to ride longer descents with more sustained braking.
In the past I’ve been lucky enough to ride in Whistler. The bike I had at the time used...
Didn’t get on with the standard grips, so swapped the out for some DMR Deathgrips but quite like the stock saddle. My 2020 came with a DHF up front so that was swapped to a 2.5 Shorty for the winter. I think this years bike comes with an Assegai so that won’t be necessary.

Various flavours here. Just bought the E Matrix ones to have in spares box for when my originals wear out.
Don’t get anything like that variation on my Purion. Usual drop when climbing or in emtb then back up when terrain flattens or goes down and back in eco. Found it pretty accurate as well, that’s gen4 with the first 85nm update.
GrahamPaul you must have some pretty big climbs and long descent to...
Market is still pretty new, so not many used bikes coming up for sale compared to normal bikes. COVID shortages also keeping prices pretty buoyant. Can see used prices dropping as early adopters start to upgrade and more about.
Like others have said, it’s just been a case of refinement up til...
Much more expensive cassettes!!!!!!
To be fair, they can also be a fair bit lighter and give you a slightly higher top gear that you don’t need if you are also going with a bigger chain ring.
This post will unfortunately be of no help what so ever ?????
I like my Vaults, although if buying again I’d probably get the Midi size. V11 would tempt me if I was looking for a large platform. Some people complain they are too grippy and you can’t reposition your foot easily, but after years...
Really like it. One of the original versions, so 27.5 but I’m happy with that. Friend has had a Levo for a couple of years and is completely in love with it as well. Whytes tend to be better value for money than the Levo, which is what sold it to me.
