The one thing I’ve discovered about shooting is it’s a rich persons sport, especially in Scotland. My father-in-law’s best friend was some big shot acquisitions lawyer down in London, traveled the world closing deals. He’s retired now and lives on a massive estate up here in the highlands. He...
Funny thing is the ENT that I’d be seeing privately is the same one that I’m seeing with the NHS. I have private insurance but it’s not covered since it’s considered a pre-existing condition. I’ll be making a trip back to the US in a few months, I’m trying to get something lined up with the VA...
I love fishing….just not in the UK. It’s not like it is back where I from, you have one license that covers the whole state. I can see the River Ness from my house, only problem is the few miles of river near me is privately owned, if you want to fish there it will cost you £150/day and that’s...
I used to enjoy diving before these issues started getting worse, now I think the pressure on my ears makes it way worse. I was working with an ENT before moving here but my GP here wants to verify everything that’s already been done. I was told before it was Ménière’s syndrome, most likely due...
I’m heading that way minus the drunk part, I used to ride 4-5 times a week. I’ve managed 1 decent ride in the last month. My GP gave me some meds to try while I wait for the pointless MRI but they’re aren’t doing anything. I asked my sister about them, she’s a board certified family nurse...
I’ve tried the VR stuff, couldn’t do it. My medical issues involves balance, there’s a massive disconnect between my eyes/ears. I did the VR thing for about 2 mins and was basically throwing up from motion sickness. Same with karting, we have a sweet indoor kart track near me. I went with my BIL...
I’ve been dealing with some medical issues over the years that have gotten worse. It’s to the point where I can’t finish a ride anymore. I’m kind of in limbo dealing with the NHS, been waiting 5 months so far just to get another MRI that won’t show anything.
What would you do other than...
My mate is a gold level Pivot dealer, he stopped selling the Shuttle SL because of the returns. He’s had his shop over 15 years now and it’s still the only bike he’s ever had to refund. He sells a ton of Pivots but won’t recommend the Shuttle SL to anyone.
I can get the Push at dealer cost, it’s still expensive but a bit easier to stomach. I’m planning on doing a build with one once my man cave is finished, just waiting to see how much this thing is going to cost me🤣😂
I have the 38 with the smashpot in it and love it. You can pick up a 38 with...
BLEvo doesn’t work with the mastermind TCU. The mastermind TCU requires the handlebar controller to select modes, I wanted to get rid of the handlebar controller so I downgraded to the older TCU. I only did it to make the cockpit as clean as I could, I only have the 2 brake lines and nothing...
I downgraded to the old TCU, originally did it to get rid of the cable going to the bar controller but the plus side is I can use the BLEvo app. The new Spesh app is basically unusable so it ended up working out better than I had planned.
Ouch…I haven’t really ridden mine since getting the SV8. I’ve got the heavier spring on it now but haven’t had any free time to get out on it. Seeing this makes me worried though, I’ve cycled it through the travel and it seemed ok but that’s not the same as a bottom out from a jump.
I would probably just try the shock as is, maybe spend the money on getting a custom tune instead. I don’t really see a point of the megneg with the long link kit though, too much progression can be a bad thing too.
Getting dark early in the winter is one of the things that I’m still not used to here. It’s usually pitch black by like 3:30-4PM, it’s honestly pretty depressing. On the flip side the sun doesn’t set until 11-11:30PM in the summer and it never gets totally dark. It’s great for riding but not so...
I lived just outside of Fort William for a few years, most of the really good trails aren’t on Trailforks. I honestly wasn’t a huge fan of the west coast though, it rains a lot and the few weeks of nice weather in the summer is ruined by the midges. My dogs wouldn’t leave the house in the summer...
