@MooseMan - Decoy Pro29 was just released in early 2020. I asked YT about any Decoy "version 2" on the near horizon and the rumored 700 Wh battery. I mentioned to YT that I was ready to pull the trigger on the Decoy but felt little burned on my Jeffsy Gen1 vs. Jeffsy Gen2 with geometry...
I'm so glad I put my Decoy 29 order in a few weeks ago before this sudden rash of Decoy 29 unboxing and first-ride videos!
It will certainly exacerbate the already-long lead-times for these puppies.
In addition to all the helpful suggestions here, I'd add point your toes down a bit. This will add weight to the front of up to 10 lbs and shift your CG forward. You essentially want your CG over the BB in all circumstances (up/down/flat). Generally, your CG will closely correlate w/ your...
I see...I agree it's not the same as a trail ride. I never rode a Decoy, but got to take a L Turbo Levo out in urban setting (up/down some steps, small rooty climb into a city-park) and it felt fine. Similar geometry. But then again I rode a M Levo SL and managed to make-do with that too...
Does YT have a location close to you that you can visit for sizing? Looks like you're in Germany.
I'm not sure what your local-shop situation is there in Germany, but another alternative is to find a shop with a similarly-sized (per geometry) trail/enduro analog bike to ride for size. That's...
In hopes to nail this the first time, with such a long wait-time from YT, I totally geeked out and put the geo in a spreadsheet for my last bike vs. Decoy.
Changes are minimal (other than BB, seattube, chainstay, wheelbase, reach)....and most of those are all in the right direction compared...
Glad to see I'm on the right track with sizing. I'm 5'10" and also went with a Large but struggled a bit on the L vs. XL. Given that it's pretty close to the L gen1 Jeffsy I've ridden past 2 years I figured it's a safe bet.
@Rob Hancill - This is just what I needed to tide me over. I'm living vicariously while my DecoyPro29 is delayed at Customs. Just sold my Jeffsy last night to rub salt in the wound.
I'm a 10.5 EE-EEEE in dress shoes depending on the brand. I've had good luck with Sidi Dominator Mega for the a cleated road shoe, but having little luck with platform mtb shoes.
Currently wearing FiveTen Freeriders as the 'least uncomfortable', but they're not ideal. That thick tongue drives...
Hmmm..interesting. ok we’ll see what happens. YT said today on chat that no valves included. I just bought some earlier so guess they’ll be spares if needed.
Ordered my 29 Pro and impatiently waiting. In the meantime, trying to get everything I need to hit the dirt ASAP after delivery.
Unlike my previous Jeffsy, YT says the new Decoy29 Pro does not ship with tubeless valves. YT doesn't recommend any in particular for the DT Swiss H 1700 rim.
What...
You are on the right track here. I'm 260# and decided on the YT Decoy because of it's helpful max payload limit. Giant Reign and Cannondale were also mentioned with higher limits.

@Mikerb - I talked to Andreas in YT Support and while he did agree that Dielectric grease is non-conductive, he said they do recommend it's use directly on metal connectors to prevent corrosion or moisture from building up (e.g. the finned connectors). He said just not to use too much and that...
@Martini No I’ve not looked at the Rocky mtn bikes. A bit beyond what I’d like to spend for the build spec. That’s just what’s so tasty about YT and some other DTC bikes. Also I’m a bit heavy at 260# so max payload specifications rule out a lot of the competition outside of YT and Giant Reign...
Reach on that SC (L) is within 2mm of Decoy (L)....that will be interesting to hear your thoughts.
I've tried a L Spec.Levo Comp and M Devinci DC. Levo seemed about right but Devinci seemed just a little short which doesn't make sense on paper the Devinci is 5mm longer reach. But who knows...
@Martini - Sorry I can't help you but would definitely appreciate if you could post your opinions if you get to try both. I'm similarly on the cusp at 5'10" (178cm) and torn between the two sizes.
What do you currently ride/size?
@Irfan1712 - I can appreciate that. I've had several cars that I never have wanted to keep rack crossbars on, or simply won't allow a hitch. Ended up going the more expensive route and bit the bullet on a GTI as a 2nd car for the kids/dog/bike. It's been perfect in that duty. An old pick-up...
