@Delgadovm - I'm right about the same as you weight-wise. Congrats on the Rail! I didn't buy the Rail because of some of the max rider weight specs I was seeing but I'm being cautious. I'm sure you'll love it.
Good luck w/ the shock tuning. I've definitely found these videos on the...
@steve_sordy - Yes! I've used KT on my knees for skiing. That would be easier if they have pre-fab "X" ones for shoulder use. Definitely more low-profile than some of the neoprene braces....
Decoy is mounted in a stand as we speak with a rubber band pushing 'walk' mode to run down the battery. I'm guessing it'll take a least 24hrs to get down to 70% with near-zero load!
@bigwaves311 - I'd love to hear what your PT has to recommend for braces or opinions on these: EVS Sports SB04, Demon United X D3O, Leatt. Please let me know what you find out.
Although I'm not quick to jump to surgery (successfully avoided it for back & neck neuropathy knock-wood), I'm...
@HORSPWR - Yeaouch! Creek bed/boulders/shoulders makes me cringe. I feel like I just fell again reading your fall scenario. I’m suspecting it was my left pedal too causing the bike to whip hard left and send the rider off the R side. It was split-second and a blur as you describe. At least...
@bigwaves311 - it’s comforting to hear you’re back in the saddle. So are you recovering from surgery or just PT-only? I’m worried that post surgery will be a slower recovery than PT-only injuries due to the wait time prior to PT and gradual ramp up.
Do you ride with any shoulder brace now? I’m...
@Mabman. I’m not on official PT yet, that comes post-surgery. But I’m doing some of the same exercises with docs permission just to keep things mobile and fluid.
RE: Battery. Are you saying it’s better to discharge the battery under load than keep charging or let it trickledown unplugged? I...
Impingement can lead to tears. If you've not already worked with a PT on this, the exercises aren't complicated and can help reverse our natural slumping from computer use/posture, etc. These PT fellas have a channel that might help you too:
Not sure if this is for me or Steve, but the Decoy seemed ok other than an odd shifting issue between 3-4 (up or down) for the remainder of the ride. Then heard some clunking which turned out to be a loose headset which I tightened 1/2 way through the ride and fine since. I literally think the...
@steve_sordy - RC damage is common in the population and we can all be walking around with micro-tears we simply put up with out of lack of diagnosis or outright pain. Did you get an MRI? Sounds very similar to my case but if it was trapped, maybe that causes the same issue.
I'm already...
Sadly - Just 10 minutes into my 2nd Decoy ride I took a bad spill at speed (either a pedal strike or bar end nicked a tree) and I went down hard on my R shoulder. Honestly, I can't even remember how it happened it was really quick. I shook it off and got to a safer portion of the trail....not...
@Yami - I just realized that the youtube above is already posted here. If you've not seen this sticky page it's a good resource:

@Yami Pedal strikes can be from a lot of things. But to minimize them, you want to bring your BB up as much as you can while maintaining proper stability and damping. High flip chip and proper sag settings are critical. I don’t think damping will affect pedal strikes too much unless you’re on...
@Yami - YT provides the Fox DPX2 setup instructions in the shipment (in German). The English portion doesn’t include the details of PSI per weight but it’s easily found on Fox’s website. I use approximately psi = body weight for 25-30% sag. I’m still getting pedal strikes using this baseline...
I’m 5’10” and ordered/received a Large. Only 2 rides in so far but I can’t imagine going any smaller due to reach. I can (maybe) imagine XL but only for added reach. But never tried XL. All other dimensions and seattube-dropper height are spot on in a Large.
The Decoy29 finally landed yesterday after a 35 day gestation...
Unboxed, converted to tubeless, 220 mm rotor upgrade up front and in a few hours she was ready to go (would have been faster if I had the right length post-mount bolts). Did some neighborhood rides just to dial-in the cockpit and...
@nikojenks - Ouch! That's awful. In the 2nd pic it almost looks like it was sloppily-dremeled in order to machine-down the face to accommodate the RDR hanger, but in the upper pic it looks more splintered from side-impact/torquing.
How has YT responded to this? How disappointing after such...
I’m 5’10” and in-between sizes too. I ordered a Large on the advice, data from the forum. Arrives next week. I’m anticipating success since the reach is larger and other geo close to that of my L Jeffsy29. Made up a chart and everything comparing vs the Levo L and Devinci M which I’ve ridden...
