@Mikerb - I haven't had 1x systems drop a chain going backwards all that often unless they were frankenbuilds or not generation-synched.
On this bike, it never happened but now it's all the time. At least I can pedal forward that's what counts... I can just lube in 4th gear. :)
Can you eyeball this cassette and tell if it's needing replacement? It's got about 750 miles / 49,000 climb ft. on it from new; mixed conditions.
With Shimano's gear machining it's hard to tell "Sharktooth" wear vs. Shimano's normal ramping profiles.
No chain slipping (yet) and chain...
@BobR - her old bike (Anthem) is actually a 26" circa 2012. So it wasn't the wheels. She loved the Stumpy Small which is 27.5, and felt passable on the Levo SL (Med) that they had though it was clearly too long.
I actually put an order in yesterday for the Orbea Small, so we'll see what...
@Cavi - thanks for the Liv tip. Interestingly, Giant's size chart puts the Embolden (XS) as 5'0" - 5'4". While Orbea puts the Rise (S) as 4'11" to 5'6". I think Specialized and YT do it better with 5-6 size options.
Liv products do tend to cut the reach down a bit. But my wife is coming...
I just ran across this very helpful site a week ago when trying to compare my old and 2 new prospective bikes.
I hope you find it as helpful as I did!

Sure, I ran across this randomly using google and some combo of 'bike' 'geometry', etc.
I used to make my own excel spreadsheet to do the same, and would always botch a number transferring - human error.

@Ducman71 - That's concerning. I know height isn't all that (we just recently discovered the "RAD" measurement) some depends on arms, torso and personal taste. But my wife felt plenty comfortable on the Small Stumpjumper (same Geo as Levo SL). She even test-rode the Medium (!) Levo SL and...
Any riders out there on an Orbea Rise size Small?
If so, what's your height (or "RAD" if you have it)?
How do you feel on the bike?
My wife is 5-foot (152cm) and rides an XS Giant Anthem X1W from a decade ago. The Rise has +24mm longer TT and +69mm longer reach.
Her "RAD" calculation...
I've had RF Atlas and Crank Bros Stamp. My preference by far is the CrankBros Stamp. I love the small or large option and they have the same build quality up and down the lineup, the composite pedals are a great value. I use those on my street bike and Alu versions on the eMTB.
I rode several brands of SPDs mtbiking for nearly 20 years, ending w/ CrankBros Mallets, then went to flats. I've since converted my street bike to flats as well, mostly for convenience ( you can ride with *any* shoes on flats), not so SPDs.
One thing I do miss though about my Crank Bros...
Tow-hitch all the way.
I had a Kuat Sherpa (v.1) but had to upgrade to a Kuat NV 2.0 due to the weight limit of eMTB. We also own a Thule T2 Pro XT w/ extension for 4 bikes.
The Kuat NV 2.0 is really well designed, nicer looking and a little easier to use (to me) than the Thule T2 Pro XT...
Mitch, I did 220 on front-only for starters and it's plenty of modulation for my style of riding (I don't have 3000ft decents anywhere). Much improved over the 200 Front. I'm 260 lbs w/ gear for reference. I'm saving my 200 for the rear when that needs replacing.
I used this adaptor...
@Polaris -
Do you keep yours on the bike when traveling on the highway, or do you uninstall it?
I came back from biking only to park my car and find my Topeak Defender XC11 29" had completely broken off the bike.
It looks like it’s broken off at the struts.
The fender seemed fine on the ride...

The fender seemed fine on the ride, though I did have significant tire-rubbing pre-ride on full-sag and re-adjusted...
