@Irfan1712 - I wouldn't risk that, or want to remove battery each time I went to ride. The bike is expensive and so is your car paint/glass. In fact, I'm reluctantly upgrading my perfectly-functional Kuat Sherpa v1 to Kuat NV 2.0 just to accommodate the ebike mass. Racks are challenged enough...
@rb. Lol...not YT related, but my friend and I argued about this positioning many times. He too prefers to place the hook ~180 degrees from the arm pivot (nearly crossing the axle). He's worried it's going to mess up the fork or cable and isn't convinced it holds better than his method.
I...
Folks do you think this Decoy29 Large looks about right if I'm used to Jeffsy29 Large geo?

@nickfrog - what's your height? what reach measurement are you used to on your previous bike? I ride a gen1 Jeffsy29 (L) with reach of 445mm and top tube 616mm. It's been fine but could use a longer reach. The fixed all this in gen2 but oh well.
Decoy 29 (L) shows: Reach 462mm; TT 608mm...
@YT_DAVE88 - when you rode your buddy's XL, was there anything you *didn't* feel comfortable with? Like standover? Or anything else? I'm the same height and have a Large '18 Jeffsy but thinking of sizing up to XL on the Decoy.
@rb. I am in US (Maryland) - and no, I've never had an issue talking to YT in the US. Overall, I respect YT and I love the products & value they offer. Frankly, I didn't think twice about buying my Jeffsy since it's "just a bike" (anyone can service it if you pay them, or DIY like I have for...
I’ve tried several floor stands including the single swing arm one and this design has been the best. Works with wider tires depending on the model. They sell several widths.
@Lee Dove - re #1 above - do you literally mean the external charge port, or inside the motor casing? If external, that's good and easy to check/clean.
#2 - are you running in high or low chip setting? I've gotten a ton of strikes on my Jeffsy in 'low' and now exclusively run in 'high' and...
@R120 - Thanks for the insights. Shimano's website lists some LBSs that are no longer in business. I called one shop listed as a Shimano Service Center (SSC) on their map to inquire about servicing E8000 motors, and the guy said "he'd have to talk to their mechanic and he's busy at the moment"...
How many of your have had to return your Decoy to YT for motor and/or battery issues? (not other analog bike parts - those I can address @LBS).
I've seen the following:
@SteveSSS : UK Yt Decoy Support - EMTB Forums
@Jedipip: YT Decoy NOT Serviceable by Shimano and YT Customer Service Fail -...
@Tienhaara - If you are concerned about warranty issues and issues-handling you should check this out if you haven't already: Consumer Rights - Where do I stand in getting a refund on my Decoy? - EMTB Forums.
I'm likewise considering the YT Decoy and Spec. Levo Comp .....and Trek Rail 7...
@Iggy_BBR - thanks for the feedback. I'm not so much worried about motor capability coming from analog I'm sure they'll all perform. Motor replacement though would be an issue from mail-order (YT Decoy)
Rail 9.7 looks identical in component spec to the 7. It's the carbon version. I can...
Shopping for a Trek Rail and Trek states a max rider weight limit of 247 lbs. I'm 265 lbs bare (~275 w/ hydration/gear) and looking for any experience or advice you heavier riders might have with the Rail. I've yet to test-ride the Trail 7 (seems hard to find in-stock in MD USA). I'm clearly...
So for those of you riding Turbo Levo with body weights of over 105kg/230lbs, you're out of specifications for Specialized. Permitted Payload (rider+gear). Max total = 130 kg.
There are more than one of you for sure! Did you check with your local LBS about your weight beforehand? Are you at...
@Leroidulacanau - Sorry, I missed this earlier! Seems like of my top 3 choices (Trek Rail, Spec Turbo Levo and YT Decoy) the Decoy is the only one that will meet my "max system weight" of 320 lbs. Interestingly, you can't really find on the US site or materials the Specialized max weight...
This is me right here. Stairs are awful the day of and after any 5+ mile trail riding for me. Usually Advil + light yoga, walking or light street ride are the only thing that will loosen/lube things back up again. Losing weight is the key I'm sure to limit accelerated knee degradation - but...
@Murch - I just got a chance to watch this in full. 2 observations:
1) Just how FAST you are going uphill - and how that speed opens up an entirely unique experience. I've heard of ebike folks talking about 'uphill flow' but I've never really noticed it on some vids. Here it's really...
