I’m guessing it’s a 2020 Bosch driven Jam 6.8, if so it’s the same as mine, now I’ll have to check my shock bolts for similar. If it was me first port of call would be the dealer for a warranty issue because we seem to get a lot of “little” issues on these bikes. I’m sure the procedure would be...
Well, after a week of oiling the lock every day and checking the Trelock website where they recommend a very light oil/sewing machine oil once a year it still didn’t budge; that is until Saturday having meddled with it for another couple of hours and tapped it lightly a few hundred times with a...
Any clever bods out there know if you can pull these lock mechanisms apart; the actuator arm on a new replacement is about 45° out of line so it doesn’t line up with the latch mechanism in the bike.
Thanks Graham, it was alway a bit awkward and I’ve tried GT85 (smells much nicer than WD40) but it’s still stuck solid. Who knows, if yours cleared it, a bit more oil and time perhaps mine will eventually free up ?
I’m getting a little fed up with the smallest of issues stopping me enjoying my bike so much. This time it’s the battery lock that’s seized up so I can’t reinstall the battery. I’ve removed the mechanism and its definitely the lock cylinder that’s seized; neither key works. I know some locks can...
I started to wonder about the battery terminal wear as I remove the Bosch power tube after every ride, partly for security and partly to charge it indoors. I’ve known in the past that Vaseline had been used on power connections; anyway before I go down that path I checked the Bosch website and...
There are loads of threads regarding these bikes with integrated batteries and the problems of charging in cold weather. Try some different search arguments; as you’re up north and storing it outside then you’ll surely suffer; there are all sorts of tips on various fixes. But basically you...
Many thanks for that Graham; I had another look at it this morning and saw that it was just a plastic surround and I figured it could easily break again if the charging plug was pulled out a slight angle; I mean it is just a piece of cheap plastic so I had a go at fixing it myself. Now, I’m no...
All this theorising is great, lovely mechanical based explanations but in the real world, it’s tosh!
my spider nut came undone on today’s ride, I tightened it up with the aid of a rock and a tyre lever, it lasted about half a mile before it came undone again. On a 15 mile off-road ride I had to...
Hey Yorkshire Lad, I don’t know about anybody else but I’ve been waiting in suspense for a positive update from you on this; hopefully it’s all sorted ........perhaps you’ve had to sign an NDA because they’ve replaced it with an all singing, all dancing latest top of the range..........or did I...
How odd, similar thing happened to me on my Focus and I posted it yesterday, only mine has actually broken the plastic surround, So I’ll need a new socket assembly. To me, yours looks like it should just push back in. It all seems a bit flimsy on a bike that’s supposed to be taking a hammering...
Anybody else had a busted charger connector; mine broke as I disconnected the charger cable, it just pulled out with the plug; I don’t think it’s a great design anyway. Nowhere near as good as the previous generation Jam2 with the magnetised connector (and the neat blue on-light). I’m...
Mine went missing after just 150 miles; I got the the big one as a replacement, it was free from the dealer; I just trimmed it down a bit to make it fit. It’s been on a lot longer than the original was, just made sure I cleaned the surface with a freon type cleaner and warmed up the sticky...
Agree, new crank, but looks like there’s no grease on the pedal thread, which you definitely need. Might be cost effective to let the LBS do it as you’ll probably need a crank puller to do it. If the pedal thread is stripped then get new pedals too, you don’t want to be stripping the new crank...
Hi Steve; Not sure if you remember a previous thread but the range I was getting was pretty low so luckily I was able to p/x it (with a wodge of money, of course) against the later Bosch version.....625WH battery, easily 40 mile range over the same terrain as the old model that got me 15 miles!
1300 mostly seriously off road miles on shimano E8000 - no problems.
450 miles -as above - Bosch 4th gen no problems......unless you count the left side cosmetic cover falling off?
450 miles on Bosch driven road bike no problems.
