Don't know what the pricing is like across the ditch, but over here the Trek Rails are quite a bit cheaper than the Merida. At your height you'll want a roomy frame with a long travel dropper
There's a couple of small pieces that go on the chainstay and around the motor mount, that you can't get to with the chainring on. Hope it all goes smoothly for you, nothing worse than working on your bike when all you want to do is ride. (y)That's where I'm at today, perfect day for a ride but...
It can be tricky to apply, just take your time and don't try to do too much at once. Mine certainly isn't perfect, there are small air bubbles here and there. Overall it looks OK. Putting an extra bit of baby shampoo in your spray bottle gives you extra time . For me much of the time was in...
Gorgeous bike, such a sweet colourway! It's well worth waiting for your invisiframe kit before riding, I did the same on my Rail (2020). as quertycube said, chainstays do scuff from your shoes, even with the invisiframe I can see scuff marks, I'm planning on putting a bit of helitape on as well...
Yes research is always the fun part for me as well when it comes to buying anything MTB. I read/watch reviews, look on forums, really delve in, make a short list, pros/cons. Geeky but fun. For me, with eMTBs being so expensive I set a budget first, then just looked for the best I could find for...
My 5 cents worth, it depends what sort of rider you are, where you like to ride. I have a Rail 7 and the weight definitely disappears beneath you when you ride. The weight is actually an advantage on the trails, planted, stable, forces the tyres to dig in and find grip in muddy conditions. Even...
You have the same red and grey colour scheme as my 7? Yeah I know what you mean about the colour, your analogy made me chuckle;) I have to say I do like the overall looks though
I think you would need to order that through your bike shop or contact Trek directly. As you say, you will need the cover, the spacer, and the two end caps. It may be sold as a kit? You could also get all the part numbers from the parts diagram and do a web search, see what comes up.
Plus one for invisiframe, really good kit, very detailed, some intricate smaller pieces to stick on places that would be difficult to do by hand. The generic kits would be fine for the main areas though. Helicopter tape is very good to use in places where you've used zip ties on your frame, for...
I've seen Woodhill bike park on YouTube I think, (Best Day Ever MTB) looks like an awesome place to ride, nothing wrong with some road biking though, it's all cycling, it's all good, and you can still enjoy the views. Yeah Hanmer is great, a lot of it is similar sort of riding to the Ashley...
Hey DW,
Yes it is cool biking is having a resurgence, seems like it's because of covid? I think a lot of people dug their old bikes out of the shed during lockdown, we had weeks of beautiful weather, it's like people rediscovered biking and decided to upgrade their old treadlys, maybe realised...
Kia ora from the South island! I was lucky to get my bike not long after the lockdown ended, crazy how bikes have become so massively popular. Which bike are you keen on?
