Do emtbs really need special wheels?

I know that some manufacturers bring new wheel lines for emtb, like DT Swiss hybrid. Like enforced hubs and spokes and rims. But if the difference between mtb and emtb is just 10kg more, doesn't this mean that heavier riders also need special enforced wheels? I mean that the rider's weight...

The loser of the test: Trek Rail 9.9.

If they were able to squeeze the battery to 45.6mm rich Medium, why make L 49.1? The gap between M and L for the previous model was just 20mm, for the new one 35.

The loser of the test: Trek Rail 9.9.

I would happy to test a bike before buying instead of relying on reviews. But it's just impossible. I'm even unable to just see the bike, I have to order it blind in advance for many months just looking at pictures. My local Trek dealer doesn't have demo bikes, they say they used to but now it...

Oh, that's great, thank you, I was a little upset due to the following picture

The loser of the test: Trek Rail 9.9.

230x60 SD Ultimate won't work. There is a post about it, it'll hit the frame with piggyback. For ZEB not only charger was changed, but there are also other features that can't be upgraded. The thing is that there is almost no changes in RockShox suspension last 3-4 years, and now is the major...

The loser of the test: Trek Rail 9.9.

After introducing 2023 RockShox, 2022 version of Rail looks less attractive. 2022 Zeb and SuperDelux become outdated, and it seems complicated to do an update because the shock is Trek's proprietary, as well as Trek's Zeb, which uses a 1.8'' steerer instead of the normal 1.5''

Exactly what i thought when was watching the canion spectralon review, they mentioned that it has "balanced geometry".

Great experience, Were them both Large? Norco Range has 170mm travel vs 150mm Trail, no wonder it feels much more comfortable.

Yeah, interesting that Rob 6''2' also thinks that it's too long. Wondering if 30mm stem would help. I mean Rob from Loam Wolf :) Not Rob rides ebikes :)

    Rail Mullet

@Doug Stampfer Great review! Interesting, It seems everyone who tried mullet likes it and is going to keep it, but manufacturers still prefer to make niners, and The best eMTB of 2022 - Group test of the 13 hottest eMTB models of the year states that 27.5 is dead for emtb :)

    Rail Mullet

Yeah, would be nice to get some review, I'm concerned about bb drop, which by my estimate will drop to 45mm, seems pretty low

Yeah I considered giant reign, but it's out of stock in Australia: The dealer's reply: "Unfortunately we have been informed that there are no more Reign e+1 or E+0 coming for the rest of the season! There are electronic and battery shortages still on account of COVID There is no news yet as to...

Thank you guys, your opinion is really helpful! I asked my Trek dealer and they don't have demo bikes, said that it was before but now people buy all bikes in advance so no sense to keep demo ones :)

@Doug Stampfer @Growmac hey guys, what do you think which bike, Merida Eone-sixty or the new long Trek Rail(490 reach) better suits this type of trails? Looking at new Trek, but afraid to lose the playfulness of Merida, whereas sometimes feel a lack of stability.

Seems the new Trek Rail lacks M/L, Stash with same geometry has M/L

@Growmac Thank you, great review! 2021Rail has almost the same reach as Merida - 465mm.

    EP8 range

That is what actually I expected from ebike-mtb.com as the successor of ebike-mtb.com as they have a very technical approach to tests.

    EP8 range

In Sam's video, he tests motors in boost/turbo mode, whereas the bikeradar says it tests it in eco mode. Eco mode seems not good value as it basically shows which motor spends less power in the lightest mode. It is like the motor which doesn't support you has infinite effectiveness as it...
