Great point … when is the limit for when we move back to dual crown (and 20mm axles) rather than beefing up arches and steer tubes to compensate for flex.
Especially on bikes like the Decoy (and others) that are now using the Knock Block anyway that limits the turning radius already (which was...
I am very tempted to accidently order a new Fox 38 fork when its available in a matter of days (accidently ordered is the excuse I give my wife - lol … have already played the safety card too many times )
Main reasoning would be the 170mm aspect, as the Fox 36 on the decoy 2019 version...
See post #69 (R120) ... Larry Enticer would be proud

EST 5mm difference
FWIW .. you will get used to the pedal strikes ... took me 2 months to adapt, but I rarely strike now (*after destroying a set of flat...
rb .. that wolf tooth lever and deity stem blend in perfect. Nice work (y)
* like the bell too … our riding group used to use bells as well. We called it the "send it" bell (whenever a big trail feature was coming … ie jump … you would hear the bells ringing before sending it - lol. When you...
^^^ R120 … love posts like this! (y)(y)(y) Great info. Wish I could thumbs up this one 10 x
I've got a set of Michelins on order that was supposed to be here last week ( .. no courier names needed here) .. and this post helps a lot. They are 2.8's but I like the analogy of...
OK correct without compensating in the STEPS programming for wheel circumference. ;)
Will fix ..
Have you ridden the e-bike down Martha's yet ?? I am debating bringing my Decoy there (rode with a Transition Patrol on Martha's last summer).
Good to see Canucks on here (Kelownafornian here)...
:unsure::unsure: .. edited this post to improve accuracy (about 101 times :ROFLMAO:)
YT response (speculating here)
I would suspect it has nothing to do with tire size but rather the change in wheel circumference and its effect on measured speed (same as when you install larger tires...
Highly recommend Stunlocker as well .. BUT you need to buy the license for FULL features to unleash the power of the APP and the bike (y)
Congrats on the new bike .. nothing beats the feeling
Anybody you know have a wheel with 11sp cassette you can mount as a demo ? Then you can at least rule out the cassette.
Let us know what you find out. Good luck (y)
Contact E13 directly and send them the serial/model number off the back of your cassette. You can see it without removing it.
Chances are you have the original model that had shifting problems (they will know based on the serial number you send).
They will send you the new updated version...
Sorinok ...
Great job with the color matching scheme. Nailed it.
Modifying a bike and having it look great is a true form of art (not to mention expensive .. but that what money is for .. buying "essentials" .. aka bike parts (y))
I would definitely want to try it first.
I don't think head angle is a big difference maker but RATHER the BB Drop.
The bike sits 7mm higher up in the high setting which changes the centre of gravity. You feel more "on the bike" vs "in the bike". This will be true regardless of sizing...
Well I read all your responses and decided to give it a try yesterday.
High Setting observations : * while only a slight change in Head Angle "on paper" ... you will definitely notice it. The weight distribution changes and the BB drop changes as well resulting in a much different feeling...
Just remember there is very regimental routine to adding air to Fox shocks … cycling it 10 times every 25 psi to equalize positive and negative air chambers. Lots of info available online
If your doing this already … then I don't have a clue why it needs such high psi
Good luck...
Haha .. you mean the $70 (CDN) Thirstmaster 2000 one I was forced to buy (since no other options fit) is not "worth it" ..
I agree .. lets hope other options are available on the new design so we don't get taken to the cleaners for a $5 Tupperware bottle that is proprietary in design and...
My "guess" there will be an update in 2021 that includes (disclaimer here: 100% speculation .. so as Frankie would say "relax" … its just a guess)
1. New Shimano EP8 motor
2. New Battery for such motor
3. Fox 38 forks (170mm)
4. New Fox X2 rear shock
5. New YT seat post...
Good on you for solving the issue .. YT should at least send you some SWAG for your work (y)
Any chance is sharing your "shim specs" … I can easily get some made (hope to never need them)
Ok .. I'll get it started . Curious to see what upgrades or changes you have done to your Decoy and the REVIEWS that go with it.
I bought the Pro Race model as I liked the specs .. so did not change a whole lot
Change #1 - Upsized to Galfer 223mm rotors front and back
Comments: IMO the best...
