That’s interesting. Despite having replaced my sensor disc, power still cuts out and comes back unevenly.
Do your bikes have the same software version?
I have a slightly older Hardseven (Yamaha motor) and I am pretty sure I have used it at least as hard as your “older lady” while heavily loaded on steep rough hill tracks. If my battery has deteriorated since new I cannot tell. I still have exactly the same % left after a standard trip as ever.
Our posts crossed. As I said above, I don’t use my Flyon that often and was told it is not good for the battery to leave it for long periods at 100%. If I don’t expect to use the bike for a while I leave it at 50% topping it up the night before use. If I don’t expect to need a full charge when I...
I still have and mainly use my Haibike Hardseven. I keep the heavier Flyon for longer and harder trips when I am carrying a lot of kit. So it is usually charged beforehand and run down to say 20-40% then left at about 50% until needed again when it is fully charged before use.
But, my friend...
It is a year old and I think it has always charged to 100% if I have left it that long. Not been heavily used (lockdowns and a fall) and except for twice running it flat I have tried to follow advice such as not storing it at 100% etc.
Topped mine up today in a very cold (but not freezing) garage using the standard charger. Normally I would have stopped charging at about 85% but because of this thread I let it continue and it went to 100%.
Thanks for the feedback.
No similar problems with my bike but I do not have any lights! Touch wood, since the initial teething problems my bike has been absolutely fine.
My bike is kept in a garage in the north of Scotland; cold but not frosty at the moment. Charged from 53% to 100% with no problem the day before yesterday. The battery is one of the first Flyons but it has not been heavily used except twice being emptied completely.
I did sometimes have error messages displayed with the power cutting out but I don’t think they were the same as yours. Sometimes the power went with no message displayed.
My friend with the same bike had a shut down with a critical error message but our LBS plugged his bike into their computer...
I am probably taking you in completely the wrong direction - but just in case.
I had a similar symptoms (not exactly but close) when my speed sensor was VERY slightly warped. No creaking though. Sometimes power just cut in and out as I pedalled other times there was no power there at all...
Good result. And it sounds like the Flyon spares situation has improved. Also reiterates the need for strong local bike shop support which can make a huge difference.
I endured a similar lack of interest - or ability to deliver - from Raleigh when I had initial problems (now sorted and very happy) with my Haibike Flyon. The excellent local dealer could not make the repair because they needed a part from Raleigh - which did not arrive despite repeated...
My Alltrail 6 fits well on the Thule XT - both clamping and tyres. See my avatar on the left for picture. Your model should clamp in the same position.
If I had not bought my last bike from my local shop, it would still be lying in my garage unused while I tried to get support from the manufacturer to fix problems and supply parts......
This is not my area of expertise but I don’t think the primary connection can be Bluetooth because it works for me far beyond the range of Bluetooth locking and unlocking the bike and showing info on battery etc. I thought it was via a mobile phone connection??
My 5-year old Yamaha Hardseven has been absolutely faultless and far exceeded my expectations of what an EMTB could offer. My year old Flyon Alltrail (one of the first delivered) had problems initially but now works fine and, while the Flyon motor is perhaps not for everyone, it is excellent for...
