I have had a Haibike hardseven with the Yamaha motor for over 4 years and it has been excellent (and faultless) on rough tracks and some pretty rough hill paths - but I do not go looking for challenges! I fitted a Cane Creek Thudbuster that takes the edges off bumps.
I also have a Flyon Alltrail...
Front mudguards are a cheap brand attached with cable ties; not very elegant but my choice was limited because i have a front pannier rack. At the rear, again because of a pannier rack, I cut a piece of plastic and, with cable ties, fastened it below the pannier. Also not very elegant but it...
I had just paid £5500 for an eMTB that was (rightly) lauded in the media. However, immediately after delivery my bike was off the road for about 3 months because it needed a new controller that was unavailable and then there was a sensor failure that again made the bike unusable. Other owners...
Very happy with my Old Man Mountain pannier rack. Not cheap but top quality and they have models for FS bikes. Good people to deal with too.

Sorry to hear your saga; I too found Haibike support absolutely hopeless and without my excellent LBS I would have got nowhere.
My friend with a Flyon had a “critical error” from stationary and that was because he had his feet on the pedals when switching the power on. I had one on the move and...
Exactly the same as mine (All Trail 6). When the limit is reached the power surges in and out as you try and pedal faster and fail. My speed sensor has been replaced with no difference.
I have never managed to pedal fast enough to reach the “nice and free” phase.
I have now accepted what the...
Very happy with my OMM kit which arrived very quickly from the USA. Not cheap but excellent quality and a perfect fit. My bike is a hard tail but I believe they also make FS kits. Worth an email.
I use the same rack to carry my 2 bikes and am very pleased with it. I also bought the optional folding ramp that makes it much easier for an oldie like me to load my heavy Haibike Flyon.
I posted some photos in the Haibike forum that I took on Monday when cycling over the Corrieyarick Pass from Laggan to Fort Augustus (highly recommended and deserted). The weather on the Laggan side was, if anything, too hot and the streams were mostly dry. Plenty of midges around though.
As...
Cycled over the Corrieyairack Pass from Garda Bridge near Newtonmore to Fort Augustus – about 19.5 miles and a climb of about 2500ft. Pretty rough in places and some steep climbs but well worth the effort. Despite trying to manage the battery used 90% on the trip.
Don’t get me wrong. If I have a heavily loaded bike on a long hill it is the Flyon every time :)
But just bimbling along more lightly loaded, the Yamaha is a very easy ride - and greater range too. It’s really horses for courses. I love both bikes.
Agree. I have the Yamaha in my Hardseven and it has been faultless over 4 years slogging up long hills. Apart from ultimate power, I much prefer it to my Flyon.
Upper Glen Affric. Hugely busy just now and the long single-track access is a nightmare with the camper vans who will not or cannot reverse. A lot of walkers and bikers on the trails but once a bit away from the car parks brilliant.
Hello MWO
I quite agree with you and I posted earlier about the drop in range when I started using the bike on rough trails speeding up and slowing down rather than steady state on good tracks or roads. Only to be expected really.
What I would say to those who complain about the range is that it...
Based upon my experience of the Flyon, that is probably a fair assessment of likely range. It does take you up the steepest of hills though :)
Actually, I just noticed the power setting on the graph is in “high”. If that is throughout the trip then I think 31 km is on the very upper range limit.
I had some teething problems with my (very early) Flyon Alltrail but all sorted and very happy with bike now and I have yet to find a hill I cannot climb :) . It is a heavy bike and some people are disappointed with the range but it suits my use very well - rough tracks and carrying tent and...
I am probably not a “normal” user as I stick to forest tracks - some pretty rough though - and paths. No downhill racing etc. I went hard tail to allow pannier racks to be fitted.
