l know it is not what you asked ( :) ) and that you do not want to change everything but if you are going back to the drawing board then I am very happy with the SRAM 12 Speed Eagle 10 - 50t fitted to my Alltrail 6. It changes smoothly and I think the 50t would take me up the Eiger!
Not planning changing as for my particular purposes I am content with the Flyon’s balance of power and range, but curious you were able to return your bike on range grounds.
One reason I have kept my Yamaha Haibike is that even with its ageing battery it has at least 50% more range than the Flyon.
Sorry to hear of your illness. But the disease is certainly present in Scotland. A good friend is still not well 2 years after being diagnosed and enduring a spell in hospital. A local GP has had to retire after not recovering properly after having it.
I get bitten by ticks several times most...
I formed my initial impression of the Flyon's battery life during the lockdown when I was mainly riding on hard surfaces. Now I am using the bike on rough tracks and paths I am getting a fair bit less mileage especially if I am travelling slowly picking my way past rocks. On Monday I went with 2...
I am in the same position as Steve. Several initial problems that made the bike unusable but excellent LBS sorted them and now very happy with the bike. Haibike initially were not helpful and without the pressure from LBS not sure how long things would have taken.
The Yamaha in my Haibike Hardseven is still going strong after 5 faultless years lugging some heavy loads (including me :) ). In everything except ultimate power, I prefer it to the TQ motor in my Alltrail.
I have not heard of any Flyon motors actually failing (although that’s not to say they have not) and in my case the problems were a loose wire on the control panel and a warped rear brake disk distorting the speed sensor. Both relatively cheap to fix once the issue was identified.
I am no...
Well, I am 67 years old and 14 stone but I would say fairly fit. The picture above was taken on a trip of just over 16 miles with a climb of almost 2000ft over a fairly rough path and on an unladen bike. I used low/eco mode on the way in because I knew there was a long steep climb to come where...
Mine is the ST version and you get different “strengths” of rubber shock absorbers depending on your weight. It takes the edge off sharp bumps but certainly does not eliminate them.
I have had a cane creek on my “old’ Hardseven for years. I think it makes a real difference. My new bike has a drop seat post and, good though it is, I keep thinking about replacing it with the Cane Creek.
My hobby is not actually mountain biking but fishing remote hill lochs - and often camping out to do so. The racks carry tent and sleeping bags etc, and a float tube plus fins etc. Perfect tool for the job :)
Biking along an old stalkers path not far from Kintail. As the thunder started getting nearer turned tail and raced the 9 miles back to the car.
I had my much younger and fitter brother with me riding his Specalised Levo emtb. We climbed about 2000ft and some of the hills were seriously steep. I...
