They said to me "You may ask your bike brander to send you megatooth with the marking SH12 which will solve the current problem." And also provided the picture above with the "megatooth sh12" imprint.
Yes, I think that is exactly the problem. I spoke directly with FSA and they told me that only the megatooth chainrings stamped with "SH12" are compatible with shimano 12 speed chains.
And so the Shimano 12 speed specific inner link on the chain catches on the too-wide tooth under load, causing...
Just for posterity, I messaged someone on this forum who also has a Thron, asking them a question and they replied with this:
"I looked back what you were complaining about and it hit me like a bolt. I’m on 4 day ride in Scottish Highlands and exactly the same clacking started yesterday. I...
I'm having some troubles with the stock FSA chainring on my Thron 6.9. I think Focus is using non-optimal parts on this bike (also noticed they use the same chainring on Shimano drivetrain Jam²)
On my new Thron2, with a FSA G4 34t megatooth chainring, When pedelling uphill mainly...
I would request a solution too, yes the bike is going to get marked up over time, but that marking is front and center straight in your view as your riding the bike. It impacts the new bike experience. It shouldn't be a problem for them to just replace that small part.
I would never be...
I'm also having some troubles with the stock FSA chainring on my Thron 6.9. I think Focus is using non-optimal parts on this bike.
When pedelling uphill mainly off-road, and putting pressure on the pedals, it makes a noise from the chainring and a sensation through the pedals. After closer...
For kiox mount on my Thron, I'm using the 'KTM MTB' kiox handlebar mount.
Select 31.8 size then the MTB option will appear below, there are three different styles (over bar, under bar and center bar)

What's everyone's thoughts on tubeless inserts?
For example, tannus armor tubeless.
I'm about to setup my wheels as tubeless and wondering if it's worth getting inserts? I don't ride any crazy downhill or do big jumps or anything, mainly just single-track.
Thanks!
I've been looking at the Exposure Flex E-MTB light. I like how compact it is, that it runs off the bikes battery, and that it has dynamic battery saving features (like Auto dimming when stopped or going slow, auto brighten when going downhill or fast). But damn, is it expensive.
Bought a whole bunch of things this week to kit out my new Focus Thron 6.9:

PNW Range 40mm stem
PNW Range KW Handlebar
Oneup EDC pump 100cc
Oneup EDC v2 insert
76 Projects Little piggy strap + dry bag
Absolute black Top cap
DT Swiss Tubeless tape + valves
Park tool...
If you buy a direct to consumer bike, make sure that you test ride a few bikes with very similar geometry so that you can be relatively sure that the sizing matches up. Learn about what the different geometries are so you understand the differences.
It's standard Bosch Gen4 light cable. It's positive and negative cable and the dealer can enable to button and set the voltage through their Bosch app on their computer.
Recently bought a PNW Range stem that had the facility for a GoPro/light mount right in the center.
My bike didn't come with a light, but does come with the cable prerouted ready to go.
So I was wondering if anyone can suggest a light that's nice and bright, is compatible with being powered...
I think for "70% fire roads and 30% mild single tracks", 130mm would be sufficient, and I wouldn't go more then 140 otherwise it's going to impact on how dynamic the riding is (aka make for a less engaging ride) I think jam² could be slightly over biked for at most '30% mild single trail's. Jam2...
I think you would be well served by 130mm front and rear. Enough to give you nice cushioning even off-road trails, yet not too much to make the ride boring. Will still give you nice feedback and keep the ride engaging and dynamic.
Check out the Focus Thron², I think that bike would perfectly...
