maybe the dealer would do it for you, mine offered (I should have accepted).
if there's a choice I prefer matte for a bike. gloss is ok in the showroom but matte is more workmanlike for a bit of kit that gets chucked down mountains. it ain't a Ferrari!
and I wouldn't bother invisiframe on...
I reckon Santa Cruz have been quite shrewd here. (perhaps by accident not design).
They've made an ebike for Santa Cruz customers, not a Santa Cruz for ebike customers.
Tried and tested platform, familiar model name and use case, no huge risks for SC or customer, ticks all the boxes for SC riders.
Thanks Rob. I guess Specialized need to decide their policy on this as people may be considering flyability for riding as a benefit of the SL when purchasing. I've seen it mentioned in reviews but I don't think I have in official Spesh media.
Small bum bag for local rides. Pump, multitool, couple of levers, lightweight shell, phone. Don't carry a tube any more, don't recall last time I needed one. If I do I'll scrounge one or walk home. No biggie.
That's pretty much it.
Ride light.
thanks Rob.
also ..
IS THE FRAME DESIGNED AND WARRANTIED FOR RIDING WITHOUT THE INTERNAL BATTERY INSTALLED?
I've seen the bike described as 'flyable' by removing the internal battery and packing range extenders in hand luggage.
Can Specialized confirm the riding an SL without the internal...
there were noise issues with some Levo motors and I believe some were changed under warranty - but that was before I was in the emtb loop so maybe someone can confirm with info.
@Saxon My Levo is from Ace too. Where did you do your SL demo?
thank you.
broadly you got 182 metres from 105Wh on your SL.
I get about 1000 metres from 500Wh so I'd expect your route to cost me about 90Wh on the Levo. But your route is much flatter than mine would be straight out of Dorking and up Leith Hill or Ranmore, that's material as it still costs...
My understanding:
* motors replaced during first warranty period are only themselves warrantied in that period. Makes sense or people would abuse it and get infinite motor replacements.
* any (paid for) replacements after initial warranty period are then themselves warrantied for 2 years.
So...
Seems like a safe bet for someone wanting a heavy trail/enduro EMTB. It's not for XC or all day epics.
Nothing wrong with not being bleeding edge if it does the job.
Probably competes with Canyon Spectral:ON and YT Decoy. Santa Cruz have plenty of fanbois in the UK, they'll be wanting the...
