I placed the silent gear in my M600, and it was more quiet.
Hello, there may be an answer to this elsewhere but I cant find it. Is there a UK or European seller where I could get this gear from to save on shipping cost. Luna wants $50 to ship to UK.
Cheers, Mike

Only the very early M600 motors had a steel main gear in them, are you sure you actually have one of those motors ?

I just ordered my frame and motor last autumn, so probably nylon but was looking to get a spare so I am not stranded too long if I strip this one out. They are kind of pricey.

Today I received the original crank arms for M500 / M600 in 2 days after ordering! Speed and decent price 27 € (only postage was 12 €) from the Czech e-shop ... 👏 I will shorten the original to 150mm and test the functionality ... 👍

Has anyone changed cranks on the M500 / 600 to Mirandabike crank?
I looked at their specification in the catalog and not a single number matches what I measured on the bike

Hello guys,

I have been searching for more details on how the M500 performs, especially when compared to a regular Specialized Turbo Levo, which is already too powerful for my taste, when riding it, I usually ride it on ECO Mode mostly, although I appreciate the extra power on more technical uphill segment, short burst of power. I’ve tried to look up on YOUTUBE and elsewhere, nothing conclusive.

It seems that M600 is way too powerful, seems overkill to me, however more in line power wise to regular E-Bikes on the market, like Rob Ride Bikes mentioned on the CHEEB V1 build, delivering extra kick, having said that, here are the following Questions regarding M500?

1. How weak is M500 compared to regular Turbo Levo? Does the M500 turbo mode equals the ECO Mode on the Turbo Levo (factory setup)?

2. It seems per what I saw on other posts that the motor power decreases once it hits 50% of battery? Is it related to Voltage Drop or it’s programed to do so as a safety mechanism? Will a 50v battery resolve this instead of a regular 48v?

3. It seems that you need to spin more the cranks to get the extra power on the M500? Is this correct? If so, does it compensate the lack of power?

4. Will a 12 speed groupset help, (like a Sram Eagle cassette 11-50)? I mean, resembling more a XC bike performance, Spinning uphill?

I mean when realizing that this motor (M500) was used by the AMERICAN EAGLE team on E-MTB race, 2nd place in Val Di Sole 2019, seems pretty good.

I'll appreciate your thoughts on those, this will help when deciding between M500/M600 motors.

Thanks!

Caio

I can not directly compare to a turbo levo, but I‘m riding with buddies on

Propain Ekano (ep8)
Fantic Xef 1.9 pro (Brose Mag S)
Commencal Meta Power SX (ep8)

With the 13A firmware I can easily keep up with alle the other bikes. No lack of power, mostly I use PAS 2 or 3 out of 5. Max power I saw is appr. 720+ Watt (some say 750) peak. I think the Brose Mag S is comparable to the Levo, and I think the M500 is at same level in regards of power and battery consumption.
The feeling is very natural in my opinion, supporting best with higher cadence around 70 rpm, which suits my style. The engine does not like very low cadence at high load. My gearing is 32 front and 11-46 rear 10-spd. Cheap and absolutely sufficient.
Battery attenuation (derating at lower voltage) is much better with the 13A firmware, starting at 30% battery left but only reducing peak output to appr. 500W. Below 20% it is significantly reduced to appr. 250W. Still enough to come home. Hope that helps!

Thanks thaeber!! this helps a lot!! i'm getting M500 for sure! I like the high cadence, since it resembles more to a regular bike.

I have a question for the M600 owners.
What is the level of power reduction on around 30 and 20% of battery? What peak power output you have then?

May be You are patient and wait for the release of the upgraded M510 motor. It will be available very soon, 0,5 kg lighter and even more powerful then M500. There is a thread here on the forum for more details!

I tested the latest FW46.8 and today I went below 30% and at max. power display showed me 550-600W. Under 20% 250-300W. Now I'm trying FW46.6 and I don't feel any difference. Less kicks at the start and at the 1st level, the power is max. 250W. Battery life also doesn't matter much. We will probably return to the original FW, 46.7 ... 🤔

So I don't know exactly. But I know there was also a drop in performance. I will test 46.6 for all levels and a longer distance for at least one full charge and then I will return to 46.7 and test it properly ... 👍

Question for M500 and M600 owners.
What is your vmax on flat on throttle only (with speed limit removed ofc)?

for the m600, its dependent on the PAS Levels. It's pegged on the maximum watts per level. so each pas level will yield different Vmax.
