It gets heavy when the bladder is full, I’ve done numerous rides with the back pack loaded to the gunnels, a heave to get on but ok when on your back.
I know it’s each to their own but I no longer carry a bladder in my backpack and it’s been a game changer in my opinion, I carry a Katadyn befree and a small Fidlock bottle, as long as there’s a water course on your ride your never without clean fresh water and the weight saving is massive and could add many more miles to a ride or getting back to your car/home without a flat battery is not to be underestimated 👍

A pair of GripGrab Nordic 2 winter gloves / mittens. Their description says they are to be used in temperatures between -5 and +5 degC, which I think is appropriate. Above +5, I use my 100% Brisker gloves with good results, and below -5 I guess it gets cold using anything but thick mittens. I used the Briskers down to -10 last winter, but they are not up to it.

I've use these GripGrabs twice so far, on Saturday in -2 and today in approx +1. They keep my hands reasonably warm, but are a little bulky, as can be expected from thick gloves. I prefer as thin gloves as possible, but when winter is on, I have to face realities.

If and a big IF my motor (Bosch) survives after the warranty period
Where has the motor been serviced ?
Cheers
Performance line bearings (service centre) they had a name change sometime ago but still the same peeps..... lovely lot to deal with.
I had a gen3 Bosch that had water ingress, since they serviced and installed mudstop seal it's not missed a beat 😊👍

Currently having my gen4 upgraded with better seals ready for winter muck 😁

New 100% brisker gloves came today test on Wednesday hopefully.

Also fox gillet arrived as well ordered a XXl as I usually do for length as normally man gear fits small
But this is huge makes me look ill 🤣🤣🤣🤣
So back it’s going might order the xl but it pretty thin so weighing my options up again
Seen a trespass softshell gilet for £12 so might try that

Ok might loom at the XL
But it was regatta I saw for £12

The fox gilet is super thin certainly not warm enough to use on its own this time of year
I would definitely agree that you couldn't use it on its own in winter..it is fleece lined ..but your arms would probably snap off in minus temps .
It is the Defend we are talking about ?

Nothing as warm as that as I said it’s super thin. Mild autum and spring at best
But it’s going back and still look to find a suitable one
