Bought couple new things for bike. Accidentally knocked power switch out on my Rise fiddling with dropper so whilst in pieces did full bearing change new brake & dropper cable & AXS kit to be fitted 👍🏼

Not so much for the eeb but my lad ( 12 years old ) decided he wanted to ride again ( last time was a good few years ago and ended with a bad fall which put him off completely) and bought himself his 1st real MTB today.

Absolute bargain albeit needing a few upgrades in the near future.

Will be starting with baby steps with him but so excited that I will have him as a ride buddy.

He can out grow this and move onto my Scott aspect 29er in a few years and then my youngest ( 6 ATM ) can then have this when he's ready to be our ride buddy

The future is bright.....

100% Armega Goggles to compliment the NEW Lid.
Tested the gear out today and have to admit super comfy and didn't feel like I had a full face on. If you usually wear a medium for sizing this was spot on, just remove the thicker cheek pads and replace them with the lower profile in the pack that came with the helmet.

I bought a new top / bottom headset and spacers from Wolftooth since my Chris King Dropset 5 doesn't fit my new frame.
Managed to get a 15% discount code just by asking, so £111 instead of £131... and delivered to the UK from Minnesota in 3 days. Top class...

On another note, their QC is appalling. Their items say on the packet something about you can colour match your headset, spacers, chain ring, seat collar etc... but in realty, they can't even get their own items to match.
One part of my upper headset is navy, and the other is cyan. The 3 different sizes of spacers are all different shades of blue too!

I contacted them, and they said these are all within the tolerance, and that items anodised at different times might have slightly different shades. SLIGHLY?!?!?!?
Whoever put that headset together should be ashamed of themselves!!

My other purchase this week was a set of cyan DMR Deathgrips and the navy collars to go with them... so this might actually work out fine on my bike with the navy / cyan theme!

Unfortunately, I need a 20mm and a 5mm spacer (25mm) which was out of stock, so I now have 2 completely different colours! Will have to see if I can find a 25mm spacer in stock to avoid having 2 shades!!

That is a ridiculous colour difference 🙄. It's not the end of the world and it's still quality but it's annoying. Hope always match pretty well.

I watched a video on Industry Nine making spokes / hubs, and how they time the anodisation to the second to ensure colours match.

A slight difference in shade is almost expected, but this looks like a blind man paired them up!!

The top bushing I bought from Merlin was crap & could feel movement in the frame, changed all the bearing still no good so bought this expensive fella fork the shock, now no movement 👍🏼 also some new spokes to rebuild my rear carbon wheel with a different hub I had a light Newman Evolution SL hub at 216g for rear

Treated myself to some new pedals in the sale.
Had dmr v8 before which I found to be pretty grippy and comfortable but I didn't like how thick they are.

Surprised with the new horizons though, great grip and larger foot print, they feel great and are much thinner, really pleased with them for the money.

Love those pedals. Have the blue ones on my analogue Whyte, couldn’t find a colour I liked that matched my Cube so opted for the black ones
Thread lock the pins. My blue ones never lost a single one, but my latest black pair have lost loads. Had to order a replacement pin set and some thread lock , seem ok now 👍

You know you get notified if an airtag is in close proximity of you? could lead to someone searching your bike for it and looking inside your handle bars.
You don't get notified at that second. It's between 8 and 24 hours before it notifies.

in a tyre is probably harder to find if you really want to use one though.
I know but everything helps a little so I also have a Knog scout under the bottlecage

I bought a super expensive Maxx Tera DHr2 DD tyre on ebay for £85
Since no where else has them in stock it seems...
The shop listing it on ebay actually sends out a MAXX GRIP tyre I could have had for like £20-£30 LESS!!!
No doubt they know exactly what they are doing.... preying on people desperate for a Terra compound tyre..
I hate sending stuff back so I'm see if they price match another ebay listing...

after this I'm done with maxxis and witching to Continental... half the price and seems they have 0 stock issues + heard good things about them

I can 100% recommend the Continental Trail King, but make sure that you get the ones with the "Black Chilli Compound". Extra life, extra grip, no extra rolling resistance. Their new range of three tyres one of which is called Kryptotal (can't remember the other two) are also reputed to be good but I haven't tried them yet. The "Black Chilli Compound" may also be a thing with their new tyres.
