Got to eat my words.

Ordered Ohlins TTX22M.2 + spring from TF Tuned. Arrives tomorrow.
Only the frame, calipers, drive train, and motor/battery left of the original 2022 Trek Rail 5 (Large).

Have you mounted it up yet. I put 2 new Assegai DD Max Grip on my my eeeb yesterday, and they are noticeably narrower than the ones they replaced. Buddy mounted a new one a couple of weeks ago, and we noticed the same thing.
They maybe need a bit of ride time to loosen up and stretch out a bit. Could try fitting a tube and leaving them overnight at 50psi or something. Or maybe just 30 or whatever tubeless. Don't go too high if they're tubeless!

Put Assegai 29x2.50 WT DD Maxxgrip on the front last week, measures 2.25"

No not yet and not likely to for a while yet. I bought the tyre because it was on a decent discount, but mostly because I found one. My existing Assegai is OK, but was fading quickly. But i haven't put many miles in recently.

What I do know is that the website said it was 1335gm, like the tyre I have on, but this one weighs 1459gm!

As much as that LOL
Trek rail 7 2022 only thing left original is the frame battery and motor nothing else :)
I wish more companies would sell frame only bikes.
I like the clunky Shimano drive train 'cos I can hear what's going on. And when mud's around bushes are more reliable than bearings and easy and cheap to replace. As for the Shimano MT420 calipers they work just fine with my M6100 levers. If it ain't broke I don't fix it. Saying that, I am on my third wife but she rides a mtb so she's a keeper. ;)

My YT Decoy is getting a new tubeless repair kit after using the old one. So not really a present to unpack already (hopefully), but she'll definitely appreciated it when time comes. :)

I bought my grandson a chin bar for his Bell Super 3 helmet.

During the search I noticed that the chin bar was variously described as for a Super 2, Super 3, Super 2R or Super 3R. Never did I see it as being suitable for all of them. I emailed Bell and received this response. In summary one chin bar suits them all, as long as you get the correct size.

Hi there Steve,

Thanks for getting in touch with your query. I can confirm that the chinbar - Bell Chinbar For Super 2R & 3R MTB Helmet will fit both a super 2 and super 3 helmet. The R just refers to the helmet chin bar hence why the version without is the 3 and with is the 3R. If you buy that chin bar it will fit both the helmets you have asked about.

I brought my E-Bike an analogue friend, Specialised Fuse Hardtail, (maybe they will have babies) ... Seriously, after 18 mths of E-Biking my fitness is up so I'm now able to ride an analogue bike on the trails, and its great for when we have visitors that haven't ridden on trails, don't have a trail bike, or couldn't bring their own bike. I give them the choice and they always take the E-Bike ... I love both of them. Also means I don't have to stress if one bike needs some maintenance and is off the trails for a few days.

For me not the bike! POC kortal Race Spin helmet. Very comfy and good fit straight out the box. It has RECCE and NFC and I have already uploaded my profile. I have also ordered POC downhill goggles as I sometimes opt to use goggles rather than glasses with an open face helmet and always found the fit is better if you match brand on helmet and goggles

The new Ohlins TTX22m.2 coil shock works so well that it made the front end feel in need of an upgrade. So bought RockShox ZEB Ultimate Charger 3 RC2 29" DebonAir+ 160mm x 44mm (Black). Should be delivered in a couple of weeks.

Edit 23 Dec: Although due in January was very surprisingly delivered today to a neighbour who kindly accepted delivery while we're in the Dolomites skiing!
