Nice bike but in all seriousness, besides dentists, who is willing to pay 15000 euros to get this bike ? Still scratching to find the game changer part...

I got a Bosch gen 5 bike with removable 800wh battery replaced all suspension with RS Ultimate, top carbon wheels and bars, for less that half of that amount. With the upcoming update on the motor it will be quite near the Brose motor so really wondering why someone would pay double for the big S ?

Just came home from dealer, when I lifted it, I noticed really heavy front end (heavier than gen2 and gen 3, prob. because of 840Wh battery) , comparing to rear which was very light, plug connector has only 1 cover vs 2 in Gen 3, overall good bike build maybe except price and personal preferences, photos are S5 size but in real life looks like S3/S4.
If I had to decide for Gen4, it will be Expert or S-works frameset.

They are no longer the “go to” mtb theres much more out there,better specced for a lot less money.

Looks like they missed they mark with this one, too heavy, not as powerful as dji, too expensive.

The Pinkbike review mentioned that a few bikes using the dji motor are going to be announced in the next few days.

Think the new version of the Unno Mith releases on the 10th April.

Yup, looks a bit like they used the original 52v packs they made for the Mahle version and maybe had two different suppliers ??

Well, kudos to the rumors thread - I think towards the end we all knew what was coming!
Some objective and subjective judgements here in this new "official complaints thread":

• Objective: expensive and heavy compared to the competition
• Subjective: looks and color, gear-drive vs belt-drive, spec

I don't know how "game changing" this bike is but for me at least the price causes me to wait and see. If they were priced comparatively to equivalent competition, it's probably $11,500 for S-Works and $8k for expert (compare with Ari, Ibis, and Amflow for example). Specialized probably manufactured lower quantities initially to keep the stock low and test the water, I'm assuming the 20-30% discounts will be coming in a few months.
I think the bike looks great, and all the new features combined are innovative - it really has some smarts in it. That being said, with that kind of weight I just wish Specialized made a 450-500Wh internal battery for my Levo SL and I'd be the happiest MTBer alive. I think that's possible given that the new range extender is 280Wh and the SL internal battery is 320Wh - nearly identical!

This Gen 4 to me seems more like a Gen 3.5, like they have made a better version of the Gen 3 rather than gone out and made bike that can be classed as something new. Need to have a ride on one before i make a final decision.

Same! Admittedly I'm multitasking between work and checking this bike out so the fact that I haven't seen it on the official website or any other videos may be because of lack of focus. I did find this review that mentions the ability to toggle between Class 1 and Class 3 without emphasizing it.

For me personally, this is a major game changer because the majority of my riding is on paved roads along the coast because of proximity to trails. I also know there are many commuters that like to ride their bike multiple miles to a trailhead instead of putting it on a trail hitch and drive to the trail. For those of us that do commuting rides and don't want to be forced to own 2 bikes, this feature is an absolute game changer and I'm surprised it's not emphasized more (unless they're consciously choosing to fly under the radar to not upset the haters).

Check out the link, here's the quote, which is still confusing to me what they mean by "temporarily" (that word could imply the rider doesn't choose how long?).

I'm not going to say what I like and not but all the small tick tacks added up makes a result like 1+3+5 = groundbreaking and not like Amflow that got 1+0+0= best in test since motor is just a tiny part of all the parts.
Specialized got a track of record with consensus best support and warranty.
Watch and hate or love from my fav reviewer.

it’s a quite heavy bike compared to previous generation but at list tyres should be main impact (grid trail to grid gravity). I really would love a SL with 480wh built-in battery…

I don't have any doubt that as power creeps up for these full power Levo motors we will see SL with a little more power than the current version.

Yamaha is serious enough about competing with motors to buy Brose. Perhaps they will expand their offerings in coming years to offer something to Specialized for the SL.

The total package will change; maybe with a 480 battery. A new SL would complement this bike nicely.

okay, all positive aspects for the last gen Levos are gone for me:

- Big downtube
- heavier
- brose motor can rattle now

I tried today, and through a VPN but couldn’t get into the mode to go between 1/3. Not sure what he means by sequence of buttons or what order etc

You could do this if you run off a range extender only.

So if you wanted you could drop the weight 4.5lbs by going with grid trail tires, 600w battery and the new Fox 36 fork which is supposed to be more rigid than earlier models.

S-works then would be approximately 47.5lbs S4 size.
