Rise Dual flashing red lights can not clear Error W10100

5/8/22 Update
A Shimano tech and local bike shop service department determined the issue was with the wheel speed sensor cable being kinked, likely by JensonUSA during upgrades prior to shipping to me. If you have a similar issue, examine your wheel speed sensor.

Hi all, I'm out of ideas and Orbea dealer support doesn't exist in Los Angeles.

1. I replaced the OEM wheel which included the OEM Shimano centerlock rotor with integrated sensor
2. I used a Trek brand magnet on my new 6 bolt wheels. This worked 75% but it would get spotty
3. 2 days in the sensor stops reading the magnet in the middle of a ride, I get dual flashing red nights on the EN100.
4. I get home and try the new Bosch brand magnet in place of the Trek, which looks very similar to the Orbea brand one that Orbea and its retailers have no ETA on. I get the same issue where I only get power for a few seconds before the lights flash and I get no power.
5. I replace the new rear wheel with the original wheel/rotor, the issue persists.

I have tried cycling the power multiple times and spun the cranks and wheels backwards, nothing works.

Any advice?

What is the distance between sensor and magnet - can you make that closer? Does the magnet line up with the sensor as it passes?

You don't need a specific magnet, basically the stronger the better. I glued a couple of magnets on top of each other for better effect (standard rotor with my magnets). It also brought the magnets closer to the sensor.

The sensor magnet spacing is back to OEM. It's the Shimano rotor with the plastic encased magnet attached by two t10 bolts. Oddly when I look at it spin, I would expect the magnet to go dead center on the sensor instead. It barely overlaps with the part of the rod that sticks out, but this is how it was designed.

I just found this in the steps manual. Looks like I may have to drop the motor to disconnect the battery. Too bad they don't allow you to reset from the consumer app.

cosas i'm in LA with the exact same problem after dropping the motor and reconnecting. Dont really want to disconnect the battery as it may cause further issues. I have a new speed sensor on order now which wont be here for 2 weeks : (. Let me know if/how you solved your issue.

Hi LateRiser, the issue ended up being that the speed sensor cable was kinked by the factory at Orbea or by JensonUSA when they upgraded the brakes to Code RSCs before shipping it to me. I noticed the cables on the bike were very sloppily put together compared to my wife's same model but completely stock Orbea Rise. A Shimano tech was visiting the store I left my bike at and was able to daignose the problem. I paid for a new speed sensor and labor. JensonUSA and Orbea have been MIA on support on this issue I highly advise against buying from JensonUSA. Find a local dealer instead.

Funny Cosas I paid $85 to have it diagnosed by a mech on the shimano machine just to make sure it wasn't the motor going bad. When he verified it was working fine I took another look at a suspicious bulging part of the sensor wire near the motor. Since the mechanic suggested replacing the sensor with one from Shimano I had no idea how long it would take to get and decided to take a chance and splice the offending area. When i pulled back the insulation the wire was completely disintegrated and it had been covered at the factory during assembly : ( there had been some black repair vinyl sloppily put on it and it must have held until i put the motor back in. Once i had soldered it back together ( a real pain because these wires are lower than 22guage) and put it all back together it worked perfectly! :)
I bought from Jenson too and was disappointed with the backup service. I even have a friend that works there sell it to me for a good price but the after deal service has been non existant. Its like they figure everything is the Shimano motor so we have to get someone to look at it but likely there not going to do it under warranty unless it's their bike. Been a real learning experience with this bike as I've never had to deal
with warranty with a bike until now. I guess ebikes and ebike service are pretty new.

I'm happy to hear that you resolved the issue. The gauge of these cables is a poor design choice by Shimano. Was this a new bike or used from Jenson? Did Jenson simply drop ship it to you from Orbea or did they do any custom work to it that would require them to drop the battery such as installing different brakes?
