Long time that . I need to take more care I had I lucky escape with a crash a few weeks ago . It's too easily done.

Yes, my whole summer was a washout this year, arm was in plaster for most of it. Had to have a screw put in which involved operation with general anaesthetic. Though now no-one can accuse me of having a screw loose :D . Even after the physio it's still not 100%, at last check-up couple weeks ago doc said I should still be careful with it and to come again in 6 months

My hot tip: do not ever break your scaphoid bone. It's infamous for healing poorly.

I have the matching mt500 rain jacket. Good product, large helmet hood, vented, etc. Rarely do I go shopping for clothing unsupervised though. (Just a suggestion).😉
My leatt boots zip broke so got a credit note. They are waiting for a new supplier for Leatt but they were not really waterproof. I couldn't find anything I wanted so thought MT500 pants would do but i knew the legs would be too long. If I can't sell i may go to seamstress she's good . I reckon a fold in the thigh area taped or stitched would do. Everyone will be too busy shaking their head at the ugly mudguard to notice my breeks.

Those are probably the most expensive pants in the world …I’d put my trust in a good seamstress to do the right thing. 👍🏻

I got the jacket on sale and it was still stupid expensive.…almost ready for the daily fashion show. 🤫

Trouble is that water will probably enter through the new seams. 🤔

Well the boots were on sale a year ago 109 instead of 180 .Got the pants on credit for dodgy boots. Cost 179 but down to 99 yes the Polish woman hopefully sort for about a tenner I imagine.

Steady away, scaphoids are tricky to heal because of the blood supply and where they are. Hopefully on the mend now.

Some woods wandering and mushroom hunting today in the hood.

Didn't pick these I just like how Amanita's look in the wild.

Came across this log section that was left when the area was logged years ago, about 10' long and 5' wide. There are lots of big stumps in these woods but I have never come across a chunk like this.

Well, back to the bikes and off to the next patch!

I'm a trail volunteer at two of our county parks; Calero and Almaden Quicksilver which was once the largest mercury mine. Today I had to work on some trail junction signs at Quicksilver. Really nice day. Overcast and 65°F instead of the usual summer blazing sun and 100°F. 👍.
"The mining occurred in what is known as the Cinnabar Hills. In order to extract the cinnabar ore, the workers dug “Main Tunnel” into Mine Hill in 1850. The Main Tunnel was 10 feet high. Workers tunneled over 100 miles into the Cinnabar Hills. The deepest point was 2,300 feet below the summit of Mine Hill. The Randol Shaft sunk into Mine Hill in 1870, in the subsequent 20 years miners removed 300 tons of ore per day. Workers divided the ore into three piles by size. The ore was roasted in furnaces separating the mercury from the sulfur, in order to obtain the quicksilver. Quicksilver was collected and placed in flasks that weighed approximately 75 pounds."

Another local ride with Wayne (@The EMF ) who's skill at fitting a new Minion DHF ( supplied by him from his personal stock )on my rear wheel in double quick time had me absolutely gobsmacked .
I recently had a full rebuild of that wheel at a well established bike shop and their mechanic said that fitting the tyre back on was an absolute bitch ..which I already knew ..so it seemed like some kind of wizardry when it was done in such short shrift .😵‍💫.
We also tried setting up the forks again using the Shockwiz ..but for some reason it doesn't like Fox 38's ..so we twiddled with both fork and shock incrementally adding air & rebound until the suspension now feels better than it has ever done ..cheers Wayne 👍🏻.
Some of the Sandstone Way (The Sandstone Way • Northumberland National Park ) tracks that run through Bellingham & some of the Kielder Forest tracks at Pundershaw followed ..with a pint at The Cheviot in Bellingham to round off a very enjoyable day🍻
These pics of Wayne at Shitlington Crags ..close to both The Pennine & Sandstone Way.

Trail trail where's the trail ?! Making a commitment to a new trail can be hair raising at the least especially in the mountains. I'm sure everyone has discovered a new trail to see " where this goes " only to find out it gets worse and worse the farther in you get in. Pretty soon the bum is quivering and you look back and wonder why you even started out on this.Thinking if you should turn around or continue on. Only to find out yep you should have... It's the narrow cliff hangers that get me going. 😱 No pics of the really dangerous spots I was too busy praying and sh*ting my pants ! 💩
