Today, we have gone to Swanage and the old Harry Rocks… what a view:

And the obligatory eMTB picture:

As well as some ride photos:

An interesting part is that I have done 59km, mostly with my motor off, as I was riding with my analogue-bike friends. I am preparing for London to Brighton and I am proving to myself that I can do 100km on one battery, as long as I ride at slower pace. See my battery state after 59km ride but that is probably another thread/discussion:

So you go to Hamsterley and don't give me a shout ..?
Great section ..but for sheer balls out speed "Accelerator " is the baby ..

Yeah accelerator is great fun but that transmission line is something else. Complete roller coaster. Especially like the viewpoint area before dropping in off that rock

Climbing to the top is a killer though, glad we have eebs!

I’ll shout you next time, but likely to be mid to end of July next. Need to do that Pike’s teeth trail ??

I was there two ago with wy boy ..
Did you do section 13 ?
Is that the hairdressers at the bottom ?

So if we're doing baby's in the garden ..

compare both.jpg

Amazingly that's a Size "L" Kenevo (ridiculously mighty tank of a bike) next to a Size "M" J(junior)AM 6.9 little girly trail bike.

Did you do section 13 ?

This is the route we took, straight up to Poulty’s from the Forest drive

Four runs today was 25 miles and almost 3000ft of climbing. Knackered after the 4th run. Section 13 is on the other side so we didn’t venture there today

Took her on a blue off piste yesterday as a warm up run, Ant Hills on Trailforks (there’s a MASSIVE ant hill on the trail). Absolutely scared the shit out of my other half. It wasn’t a blue! It was a death run through the forest finishing with what could only be described as a cliff ?

Can you describe the short cut ?

Not really ..but when you start climbing instead of taking the really steep ramp up on the fire road you take the first right turn ..still a climb but it takes you past Accelerator ..keep going until there is a green box on the right and a turn off on the left ..a very rooty climb crosses over the bottom section of Transmission and brings you out on another fire road where you turn right and just keep going to Poultys ..cuts out about half of the fire road you have taken ..?.
That's about the best description I can give after half a case of Moretti watching the match ..

Zimmer ..shouldn't you be out training for your summer outing ..?
?
I was going to say it's too hot .. but then that would be training wouldn't it ??! I've got a shagged tendon and a broken big toe (rock flew up at speed) so having a recovery day, back at it tomorrow.

You raise a good point though, I'm sure they'll drink beer afterwards in the sun all the time so I'd better get a beer and practice that.

Worry Gill at Dalby today - the descent dead centre is an old dried up river bed, a rocky & bumpy ride but an amazing natural trail

The official ‘black route’ entrance is via that rock drop to the right, it’s about 6ft high, haven’t done that yet, but it’s on my list of challenges to conquer

Today on "Stick of the Day" - Zimmer Excels himself !

stick of the day.jpg

This particular trail consists of the Top part and a Bottom part. The top part was fine, the bottom part is virtually impassable.

So I was quite excited when I saw 5 guys at the top from the commune (council) with all the gear starting to tidy ..

Took them 1.5 hours .. to do what normally takes me 1 hour including tidying (I lived 500m down the road so used to do it).

Thought I'd give it a go again at the end of the ride .. Disaster. The trail is just littered with Gorse and Branches, dangerously so !

Amaziningly - the bottom part, which needed doing - they didn't touch !

Not wanting to seem judgemental .. but MORONS.

It natural - birds do it all the time to reduce their weight for a faster climbs, I say give it a go ! ....

It was a gift from a plod back up trail called "Mud Bath". 300 meters of year round bog ! It's quite impressive really ..
