Not bike related in anyway but had to take a picture ..

Nesting delusions of grandeur and a bit of sunbathing ??

The bottom of a hole and some shade?

Ha! very good. What was there was actually quite nice. It was a winding piece of single track running in and out of sunshine and dappled shade. I took some pics, but the lighting completely defeated my phone and my photographic skills.
The Rideout group on Sunday will see it for themselves. :)

I am also comfortable at around 1hr55.
Trails are tip top, and was on track to smash my PB last week until I took a tumble after clipping a stump at speed.
Also lost my confidence riding that rocky descent at 2/3rd's through.

We will have to bump into each other for a lap some time.

That rocky descent is Vera Lynn. I’m fine with the rock drops but seem to always put a foot down when squeezing past that little tree stump, only because I’ve knackered a derailleur on it in the past

I ride with my partner, who’s learning (very quickly) so end up having to wait at the end of each section, taking photos! If I get an evening to myself to go and thrash it out I’ll let you know

Last weekend I traveled from New Mexico to Mississippi to visit family (1100 miles/1770 km). A few miles from my parents’ home is Mt. Zion Bike Park outside of Brookhaven, MS. I rode 10 miles (16 km) of the trails in 87° (33° C) heat with 87% humidity because it was in between rain storms!

Fantastic trails. Well marked, challenging, and lots of improved features. 10/10, would recommend.

The only bit I wouldn’t recommend is somehow managing to break one’s shifter assembly to pieces in a slow-speed off down a shallow ravine. Damn knee.

Pic below is one of the widest parts of the many miles of trails. I was too busy yee-hawing through the trees to stop and take pics!
