Busy evening working on the bike.
Raceface ARC30 Mullet wheelset with Dt Swiss hubs.
New Shimano cassette.
the Sunrace one only lasted 400miles hopefully the Shimano one will last longer 🤞.
Had to shorten the chain and use my narrow Bafang spider, to suit the proper Boost wheelset.
Magura Centre lock discs to suit the hubs.

And SP steerer phone mount.

Only bugger is the seller of the wheels fitted non boost torque caps in the front wheel so waiting for those to arrive 😡.

Took some mental effort to send that! Wasn’t pretty but I did it! 🥳

300 miles in.

A few things are becoming apparent!
Fox 34 isn’t man enough on the really rough stuff.
And the none boost wheels with boost adapters are quite flexible.
which makes the front feel soft and sketchy when hitting big stuff or fast rooty stuff.
but on day to day trail riding it’s great 😊

built a 19Ah 988 Watt battery for some long range riding, it’s an extra 13 cells so doesn’t add a lot of weight. Hopefully get 40miles in power mode 1

increased the speed limit to 37mph 🙂

fitted the 150mm Miranda crank arms which feel great when riding, but boring as hell to look at 😖

all in all really happy still! Wish I had the money to put a Fox 38 and Dt Swiss wheels! Must get saving😌

Wow Dave! Bravely done overall💪

Three dumb questions regarding your 988 Wh battery pack...I'm just getting ready for my first DiV 27000 pack build for my second LCES004.

1. How do have your Velcro straps mounted to the frame internally? (good idea BTW)

2.Do you just pull out of the frame to charge? Looks like you plugged the key hole on the frame. I have a Bafang charging plug for the frame that I was going to attach to the hole like others have done.

Lastly, how's the range in general on the 988 Wh battery in power mode 1?

Great few days! My Lc4 had its first run around the block 🥳!
Felt very fast @ 28mph 😂
Surprised how light she is will weigh her later on.

Few jobs left to do!
Shorten front Brake pipe.
Battery cover upper clip.
Frame protection kit.
Lube the chain

Hopefully a proper trail ride on Saturday 🙏

Oh, I see how the Velcro straps are attached to brackets and carbon mounting plate. That's pretty sophisticated and super secure-looking...very clever! I've got the plastic cover-plate hoping to modify. My plan was to stuff the lower frame tube cavity with foam and glue the Velcro straps to the carbon frame under the wire guides?

Cheers. I normally just pop the cover off and unplug and charge leaving the pack in the frame.

Whatever mounting system you create just make sure battery, Wires etc can’t chaff any edges, Carbon frames are conducive and a short would be a bad day.

On power mode one I get 40miles on single track in good weather.

I’ve definitely hit a sweet spot on the Lc4 setup, corners like it’s on rails.
Getting more confident on jumping (broke my pelvis a few years back) but she flys well 😃

It is.
only problems I’ve had is the original Lightcarbon supplied head set is utter crap. And my Sdg saddle started creaking.
I can’t stand noisy bikes lol.

I’ve bought a head light for winter night rides, but that’ll have to wait a few weeks as I’m off to wales to take the Lightcarbon up a mountain 🥳

Nice mid-air action photo! 🤟 You're battery pack is stable and noise free still?

Yuuup on night rides! NiteRider dual handlebar flood mount and helmet mount spot light for me for high lumens🕯️Especially now for sunset E-mtb "stealth" riding in our Class 1 "grey areas" where powers-that-be are still assessing impact--ad infinitum!😜🍻

Also, that 970 Wh pack should stategically do well 4 max range for any "turbo" mode sections on your ascents 💪

She had a little update before the shity Uk weather stopped play.

Red stainless hydraulic brake lines,
One-up dropper post,
Renthal Carbon bars,
Fox mud guard,

Got some Hc3 levers but not fitted those yet.

Oh and bought a spare Bafang M600 motor that needs repair, so looking forward to getting that stripped down and sorted.

And booked a week in Wales with a load of Ebike nutters!

Just need this winter to end 😡

Can you post some pictures on how you solved the battery cover/ plate mechanism. Did you make your own cover? I got my own frame on order and just finished the battery now, wondering how I am going to make the plate for the cover. I think I am going to 3d print the cover but still not sure about how to attach it to the frame so that it will be secure. Your solution for the battery seems very nice, but I am not seeing how the cover is attached to the frame. Thanks
