Finally finished my build, was at times frustrating but got there in the end, this is the first time I have completely built a bike up so proper chuffed,plus it's my first full suspension mtb. Have previously converted a hardtail to a ebike using a BBSHD but was so heavy. I am amazed how light this thing is.

Still waiting on DPC 245 display to arrive, planning on fitting Hope front Chainsaw and cranks as well, but apart from that it's all complete

I have a 170 fork, because that is what I had. I would still choose 160 if I get a new one, but 10mm is not a big deal. Reason is geometry, same reason why I like full 29 more then mullet.

whats the biggest battery that one could diy and fit this frame ?
I have a 13S3P battery with 21700 cells. I think 7 rows is maximum in L size. So theorethically, a 14S3P could be maximum with the BMS mounted on the end. That could give you roughly 870Wh capacity in theory.

Would I need this? No, probably not. In summer I ride with a 500 Wh:ish battery and it is enough 90 percent of the time. I use range extender for long rides. Also it is about one kilogram extra in the front of the bike, wich affects handling.

If I would do everything again, I would build a 14S3P battery with 18650 cells. That would give 500+ Wh battery using 48V firmware. I have tried a few different firmwares and the 48V has been the best one.

Please show us range extender,did You use dual battery adapter to connect at any time ?
