There will always be reserve battery to shift.I'm not too crazy about that. Much of our local riding is in the mountains next to wilderness areas. No services, few people, in the backcountry. If I ran out of main battery, or there's a power system failure, not being able to shift while pedaling out would not be fun.
Admittedly a worst case scenario, but for my use case, it's something to think about.
U probably meant helical gears right? The Motor is all metal... I have seen the expanded drawings for it and its the move ppl were looking for as there is no belt anymore. They are wormed gears. As for pics let just say I cant share, but it will be on Specialized site on Tues for all to see.
Class 1 (no throttle and limited to 28mph ) Ebikes are regular bikes by law at the US federal level and every state has changed its laws accordingly. "land managers" can make their own rules but that is more of a request and not enforceable. My concern isn't safety, but rather politics. It's already a constant fight to get ebikes allowed at all, and this is an arrow in the quiver of the gatekeepers.
Looking at most of the bike releases for the last few months, including some not released yet, if u put them side by side, except a few exceptions they all lookalike, which is quite boring to be honest. The Levo is just one among them all, it's design imo doesn't stand out a bit, like the 3 did with the side brace and slim design.A bike is a bike. Instead of being lighter, it is getting heavier. So far, it is average. I do not understand this excitement. Because they finally took the belt out of the engine? Bosch has had metal gears for a long time and is quite failure-free. We will wait and see.
Where I live in California the Levo is by far the most popular ebike around by a wide margin maybe 5 to 1. Although this new version is not ground breaking it is definitely an improvement in power and look(in my opinion) so I see why a lot of people who love there old Levos are excited. Especially if the motor is reliable.A bike is a bike. Instead of being lighter, it is getting heavier. So far, it is average. I do not understand this excitement. It's made by Brose, of course its reliable. They have done extended testing before release, they have so much faith in it, it comes with 10 000 crank rotation or 2 year warranty, whichever comes first.Especially if the motor is reliable.
...point of clarification....Class 1 (no throttle and limited to 28mph ) Ebikes are regular bikes by law at the US federal level and every state has changed its laws accordingly. "land managers" can make their own rules but that is more of a request and not enforceable.
I think all cars should be limited to 100km/hr and have mandatory alcohol breath check before starting. If it saves one life it's worth it! sarc off hahaha.
Wtf are you talking about? It's absolutely enforceable, and not a request.Class 1 (no throttle and limited to 28mph ) Ebikes are regular bikes by law at the US federal level and every state has changed its laws accordingly. 10 000 is this a typo or where is this info from? It's made by Brose, of course its reliable. They have done extended testing before release, they have so much faith in it, it comes with 10 000 crank rotation or 2 year warranty, whichever comes first.
Yep, I am back on analog bike while Levo busted up and at shop for past 3 weeks. I am amazed how much faster and more responsive the lighter analog is in comparison on all the DH’s, especially if need to pedal a bit above 20mph on gradual declines. Good news, all the ebiking I have done in past 4 years has made me a more proficient descender. Climbs still suck howeverRespectfully, I've never understood the logic of not allowing a class 3 on trails if the only distinction between it an a class 1 is the maximum speed it will go. I completely understand and agree with not allowing motorized bikes with throttles on trails.
Not allowing a class 3 mountain bike on a trail because it is capable of going faster than 20mph is the same logic as not allowing a car to drive on a road that can go faster than the posted speed limit.
If your concern is people promising to go slow and not following rules, highly experienced analog riders often go much faster downhill and any e-bike rider can also go faster than the pedal assist limit when doing downhill. When I'm on paved roads going downhill, my bike often goes into the mid 30s.
I bought a Bulls Iconic specifically because it's a class 3 because the majority of my use is riding locally along the coast from my home. It's at least 1 hour round trip for me to drive to any trails. When I do ride on trails, I never go over 20mph and most of the time, much less than that.
If the concern is a bike that can go faster than the posted limit, I live in California and every time I see a posted speed limit on a trail, it is 15mph, so with this thinking, perhaps class 1 bikes shouldn't be allowed on these same trails either.
problem is how tthe android find my equivalent works. those android trackers are only exact if there is a cluster of android phones around, apple phones always send the latest coordinates of trackers they had contact with. so its basically useless to track things with android trackersThere should also be a solution for Android users ...
What is wrong with pink?Pink?? Is this a joke??
SF Bay AreaWhere did you get it?
Pink is fine, but she's hardly close to being as good as Lady Gaga. I mean, Gaga and Metallica was awesome. Can't imagine Pink doing that collab. What is wrong with pink?
Last time i checked, in the usa class 2 is a throttle but still limited power, and class 3 is unlimited and requires a license and insurance like a regular motorcycle. i could be wrong but whatever if a gravel ebike is 28 then a MTB should be too....point of clarification....
Class 1, Pedal assist to 20 mph
Class 2, Pedal and throttle assist to 20 mph
Class 3, Pedal assist to 28 mph

This is a good explainer:Last time i checked, in the usa class 2 is a throttle but still limited power, and class 3 is unlimited and requires a license and insurance like a regular motorcycle. i could be wrong but whatever if a gravel ebike is 28 then a MTB should be too.

Have you gotten a price on the frameset only that you can share?Same here, I am fan of Manitou Mezzer+ Mara Pro + Dominion A4 brakes.
Build wheels with Duke etc ..
But unfortunately, the frame is also overpriced...
The genie sits between the x and x2. The selling point is it has two adjustments for air volume. One is the main air can volume spacers and then a sperate spacers that can go in a different chamber that controls bottom out. I have one on my Levo SL and I have been really impressed with it so far.Is there anyone who can compare Float X Genie to the Float X or Float X2? Just want to know if it fits somewhere between them or its closer to X or X2.
Sams Bikes did a good review and breakdown of the Genie shock on their YT channel. The genie sits between the x and x2. The selling point is it has two adjustments for air volume. It's not blackWhat is wrong with pink?
I have the Genie on my SL2 also. For me, its a set it and forget it shock. Does everything well, works great. I would say it tends to ride higher in its travel than the X2 on My Gen 3 levo. Much lighter too!The genie sits between the x and x2. The selling point is it has two adjustments for air volume.
