Agreed with this, they should have given this to the Market pre the AMflow being launched, missed an opportunity imo. It looks nice in the right colour but that’s about it it’s 2nd division frame, battery, motor wise. Agree the only reason to own this over the AMflow is the back up and support, which is actually a very good reason with an EMTB..
Like a lot of others have said visually the new bike is not for me. With the way the market has caught up too, there is many other choices at lower prices with similar support.

The bikes been a long time in development due to the motor change from the original Mahle to the Brose. As you say, in that time, things have moved on a lot.

Downtubes have got larger on average over time with the desire for larger batteries. Motors have generally slowly shrunk.

The Amflow jumped along to what we'd sort of expect with development, even smaller motor area with similar (or more) power and slimmer downtubes.

OK, these certainly won't be the only reason's why person X buys bike Y, but from an aesthetics point of view, the gen4 (whilst moving away from the pregnant snake motor area look) just seems very vanilla to 99% of everything else out there at the moment.

Are they really only offering two colours for the comp build? Surely they would include a plain black/dark colour at that price level? The comp is gonna be your biggest volume seller so you want want it to appeal to as many people as possible. A plain black/dark grey version is surely the best way to do that.

Good point..

The narrow down-tube is a good point. For me from a visual point its what sets the Amflow apart from the rest as in its the only full power EMTB that does not look like one. Spz should have done more work in this area.

I swear some of you guys don’t actually ride?!

All this talk about the colours, the remote, the down tube, the side loading battery and hatch, the colours, the pricing, the on paper power figures, the weight, the colours, the battery sizes, ‘last years’ tyres, oh, and did I mention the colours?!

Nobody asking how it rides, it’s like the EMTB forum has crashed into the Shein one or something! 😂

Mentioned in a earlier thread the Mechi at Specialized JHB rode one at their training conference , he does NOT LIKE E-BIKES and he said it was the best MTB he’s every riden , Center of gravity response from the motor usability as far as all the components together are second to none and he rides all the completion bikes to understand how they ride and the advantage of buying a SPesh over a Santa Cruz etc etc

American based, right?

So a 95% chance he hasn't ridden the Chinese wonder kid?

My friend Drummond has had a trek rail for 2 years. I just noticed last week it's got a side loading battery . It's a lovely shade of red though it really is 😄

Spesh like “right no more big motor, big down tube instead” though there has been trouble with battery’s. I still love my canyon spectrals design of slim side profile wide front profile.
