As the SRAM motor is based on the Brose motor. There could be automatic shifting for SRAM shifters on this new motor which appears to be Brose/specialized

I played around with the levo gen4 swork display today, great! control button is with cable,.

very small nicely integrated motor, battery compartment on the side similar to trek ebike, but longer with key. Down tube quite higher. Magnet removal still only once. No reason for me to leave the gen3 pro.
Trek RIB design with key is aweful. I have one and hate that feature. Much preferred how Levo3 is, my other ebike. Except bike is busted now

Pretty much everything has went or will be mullet, it’s the best of both worlds.
You should at least be able to have the option to fit a 29er at the rear if you want to,there is virtually no clearance on the back end,i do not want to buy a penny farthing!
idont like the look, just looks weird, and i have rode one, still weird!

I've been thinking the same thing. I used to be an engineer at a US auto maker and we always advised friends/family not to buy the first year of a new model car.
For sure we are taking a risk but gen 1 was extreemly well designed, powerful and almost silent. Gen 2 was know for problems gen 3 not so much but i did have a torque sensor go on the motor. you have to expect a few problems thats why you buy new from a LBS and preferably from a brand based in your home country. I have a friend who rides regularly but lightly, still on his gen 1 with original motor/battery going on 9 years. This is why i like Spesh. Consistantly great products and service.

Just try it, i was surprised it works great on the big bikes. The smaller wheel tucs into a tight corner noticible better.
yes full 29 for regular bike but only for pedalling effieciency not handling.

As for the Batteries, I was told that all the carbons are coming with 840 and the alloys with the 600. The door requires a allen to remove the battery. The 340 is $700 extra and the 600 is like $800 and the 840 like $1000. Here is what I don't know as I just thought about it.. can the alloys accept the 840?? no idea. Also, saw the motor.. it all solid worm gears with no more BELTS... and they are the same on the all models just a different Tune on s-works.
Any word on when the alloys are releasing?

340 was a typo right?

340 was a typo right? If an Allen is used they are probably using some system like Giant has.

I must say the system is pretty solid, keeps the battery secure in all conditions, the downside is that it adds cca 500g of extra weight(that is where the weight of the new levo comes from). Some Giant users modified theirs with 3D printed parts and saved up to 400g with that.
Well the alloys coming with the 600Wh imo is a marketing strategy, offsetting the heavier alloy bike with a lighter battery pack.

I am interested into the internals of the new Spesh(Brose) motor, as a lot are saying all metal gears and all.
I am following the development of the Brose Drive³ Peak and so far I haven't seen an open motor with the guts on display. I don't doubt that it's all gears inside as Brose says, but I am interested if they use all metal, a mix and if the gears are straight cut or helical or a mix. If someone has pictures or more info please enlighten me.

Defenetelly helix gear profile to keep noise levels down ...

Again, I was told S-Works gets all batteries and fast charger with your order . . .

Exactly they are much more quieter than spur gears and have almost no backlash(less rattle), although it has it's downsides.
Helical gears generate a lot of sideways thrust force(pushing them apart) and so a use of special thrust bearings is required to compensate for that, also due to the angle between the gears it creates a lot more surface friction and so regular maintenance and use of lubrication is crucial for longevity and avoidance of gear damage.
The sideways force also contributes to slightly less efficiency overall.
That's is why I am interested what the internals of the motor look like, for example Bosch has a mix of spur and helical and metal and polymer gears, which is optimal, as for each task inside the motor there is an optimal material/type gear for it.
