Hopefully we keep all the disappointed comments when launched int his t
Do you guys really think that the Gen 4 is going to be that much better than the Gen 3 to warrant spending ~ $10,000 on a new bike? I'm dubious.

This goes same for the new stump jump 15 which likely the gen 4 is based on. Is the SJ15 better than the Evo? Depends it’s a better all rounder, but it’s not as aggressive. It’s going to be down to personal choice in end, we know everyone wants the latest thing though.

My only issue with the Gen 3 is the motor looks, I do get motor envy when you see the Bosch Gen5 being all trim and compact, however look at the new Whyte Kado and it’s placement in the images it looks like another bloated goat

For me only if they drop the weight while keeping the removable battery. Because it will be hard to make it much better than the Amflow in terms of the motor/battery system from what we know (them using the new brose etc.). But I think specialized will make the bike a more capable descender than the Amflow. It probably will have more travel and be more of an enduro bike. But the forbidden ebike might have closed that gap already. So aside from bigger displays and infotainment stuff the only area where I see they could make the bike better than the Amflow would be a removable battery while still shaving weight.

No ...

I don't think my gen 3 is 10k better than the gen2 .... so I doubt it will be that much better than the gen3.

I still love my gen2 and ride it often. I even race with it as I find the 29er wheels are faster over open ground. My gen 3 is my play bike and my gen2 is my event bike.

It has the same travel as the Chyna bike, 160f/150r. The rumoured LT version isn’t happening so cascade will more than likely work their magic with a longer travel link. It does have a 38/Genie so it will handle the chunk better though. I haven’t seen the weights but I don’t see how they’ll shed any weight off of it, just mounting the battery the way they did had to add a few hundred grams. If I had to guess I’d say it’s probably going to weigh about the same as the gen 3.

In April pay full opening price for G4 S-Works or get 40% discount on G3 shouldn't be a difficult decision for the majority or am I wrong.

I think you will not pay the full price for a Levo G4 at the release. I already have an offer for a Vala LT/ Bullit (not released) with 35%.
The market is dead!!

now you know the secret why every sales person shows you the top model first. they are there to move the cheaper product.

sincerly, a sales person

4 years ago I was told Specialized never in the history had sales on discontinued models.

If you belong to the elves or goblins and fit into S1 or S2, welcome and grab one...
I suppose different shops in different countries have different prices and I can get both colors in all sizes.
But I'm not buying.

2 weeks & 4 days to go until the 8th April (yes I'm counting just to be over this never ending wait to see what's coming)
Teaser movie/trailer/advert surely must be on its way.

Its interesting watching the show's.

Watching the upcoming E-bike tech episode of EMBN a few days ago was almost like they wrote it for Specialized & were forced to edit out the brand name during each topic. (Watch the show & see how many times you feel they had to physically hold back mentioning the brand. In fact I don't think the brand got a single mention & that's not through choice)

The interesting part i took out was that they dropped lots of talk about gearboxes on the way but who would be the first big player to adopt it.

I definitely feel that this was talking about a future Specialized. Maybe not the upcoming one but possibly a Gen 4 mid life update on a gearbox variant edition.

I didnt really get that out of it. I think the episode when they are visiting specialized is more telling. They arent worried about having the most power or the lightest, its gonna be more about rider interface.

The only new news I have is it appears the us sales reps are getting an intro on the 25th or 26th in Morgan Hill and it may be available here in CA on the 4th of April.

So I guess its really coming..........

They don't need the most power. Agreed.
They do need to be relevant or in the ball park for the new gen though. Otherwise it will be like a full power racing against an SL.

Imagine doing an enduro race & a transit stage is up a long hill with a time cut off to make the next stage. I would rather be up the hill having a rest than busting a nut to make it.

It seems that 100-130nm will be the new std for full power ebikes in the 2025 onwards generation

Personally I pay more attention to battery efficiency or the ability to do a 50km ride in trail mode with 1500+mtrs of elevation.

One item i forgot to mention is that with these increases in power I can see wearing out chains & cassettes increasing in a linear rate. This was raisesd in the EMBN video & it appears to be an overlooked item. Made me wonder what the Gen4 Levo will be released with.

I am interested to see when a brand fits something like an 8-9 speed ebike system where we don't need to replace a chain every 1500km & a cassette each year.

So a big heads Up
I watched a new review of the GasGas new Brose motor E-bike
And they could praise the actual ride ability of the bike enough buuuutt what a crap crap motor , now I know spesh tweak and put their own spin on the motor and supposedly is using the Brose
But if it’s anything like the gas gas we are in for a crappy crappy surprise
It really didn’t preform well at all they were holding back so badly from just calling it complete rubbish with out insulting the Sponser please watch it and let me know what your thoughts are

AFAIK the SRAM drivetrain uses the S-Mag same as the levo gen 3. Gen 4 Levo will have a different motor from Brose.

Most reviews of the SRAM drivetrain were pretty favorable and comparable to anything else currently available so I am not sure it's fair to call it crap. That said I haven't watched the video.
