Only issue is the 52V is not legal in Europe for road use in pedelecs. Of course if you dont care of this then 52V is only a pure profit.

Kyoku, is there some regulation/law which is telling exactly what voltages can be used for ebikes?

Just received today the M510 ordered to https://fr.mayebikes.com/
they (her, nicole) are really trustworthy. she have difficulty to obtain the motor from bafang, but it doing his best to provide me.

i find the speed sensor magnet on the disq very way than better than on wheel, somebody know where it is possible to ordering this speed sensor ?

I installed a rev1 engine. at 38 °C 🥵 with the firmware shared by @Rob Rides EMTB . as far as I have seen it is 48v. I made a circle around the street, and tomorrow there is a long drive. comments after driving. and as for the "52v" firmware, disaster! there are power oscillations when pedaling, when you start it gives a lot of power and after a second it stabilizes to something "normal"! while driving, when you do not turn the pedals and start pedaling again, the same as at the start. @KaroKönig is the same thing happening to you? so does Bafang need 6 months to make a good firmware? it would be time for them to make a stable Firmware for both engine revisions!

Today I was driving the m510 rev1. and new firmware. for now it is a big improvement, it has more power than the previous FW, there is no more sudden start, you can feel the power when starting, but the delivery is more fluid. pedaling is ok, you can pedal lightly at low cadences and keep the pace, at higher cadences the power delivery is stronger. all in all, a very big improvement compared to previous versions of rev1. and rev2. a little more to improve the torqe sensor and everything is great. I will see on the next rides how it will be, then I will write more.

Do you mean by the new firmware a 52V-firmware?

M510 48V can fit for another brand battery 48V 21ah , about 1000wh, in fact the Bafang use the same battery box as this brand, cell is 21700. i think it's better than use BT F25 52V

I did'nt get it: Please tell us what firmware you tested and what battery you are using. I was reading the last pages of this hread and to be honest i quite do not understand anymore what the right name of your ifmrware is and if it is working fine or not 🤷‍♂️

how does the Bafang m510 motor compare to the Bosch gen 4, i am considering a custom build Dengfu e10 build to replace my Cube 160 AT any thought would be most helpful.

I did'nt get it: Please tell us what firmware you tested and what battery you are using. I was reading the last pages of this hread and to be honest i quite do not understand anymore what the right name of your ifmrware is and if it is working fine or not 🤷‍♂️
greeting. I use a 14s4p 21700 cells 52v battery. engine m510, I have rev1 and rev2! firmware rev1 48v last shared by @Rob Rides EMTB works fine for me. firmware rev2 "52v" shared by @Rob Rides EMTB doesn't work well for me. @Puschtrale satisfied?

In fact, I did not notice any difference between it and the firmware we were using before:
(CRX10NC4814i101003-1-cs-28-2230-boot3-0-20220517161110-48v-M510.bin)
As if it was the same?!!
The sensitivity of the pedals themselves has not changed, you still need to put a fairly strong torque on the pedals for the engine to start supporting.

Honestly, I did not notice that difference, as before when pedaling at a low cadence, the engine does not work.
In my opinion, this is what Bafang is trying to do to reduce power consumption to get longer battery life.

on yesterday's drive, the engine worked great. a couple of times I kind of faltered a little. maybe it's because of the 52v battery, it has higher voltage and more power!? I didn't charge the battery, so I'm going for a drive tomorrow to see how it behaves with low voltage.

- Engine noise is audible while riding the bike but I find it quite tolerable.
- Engine versions available for sale are: 36V, 43V and 48V. I didn't find a special 52V version.
You can always reprogram the controller to change the voltage by installing a different firmware.
- As far as I know, All M510 engines are CANBUS.
- There are many firmwares for the previous M500 engine. Some of them are very excellent but the M500 engine heats up quickly under pressure. But the M510 engine gives much better support Without getting too hot. Thus, it maintains high performance under pressure for a longer time.
I've never tried the M600 engine and I'm not aware of its problems.
