I considered mulleting, but I sold my other bike with a compatible rear hub.Showing to be a versatile rig in changing riding position height with adjustable geo, has anyone contemplated to mullet this rig?.... Asking as l am 5-6.... After a brief blast and yeah noticed the power delivery over my old medium 27.5 2019 Norco sight.... Altitude indeed felt greatly capable.... I held back on purchase due to the stand over height.... Hence l thought to throw it out here regarding lowering stand over by the ways to bolt a 27.5 or mullet set up!.... if need be adhere to a possible flipping of the frame geo adjustments to raise BB to avoid peddle strikes.
Ok thanks!
Nice, thanks for sharing the tech info Robstyle..... can follow this up, sounds super easyI considered mulleting, but I sold my other bike with a compatible rear hub.
Super easy, stick it in position 4 and get shorter cranks
Yeah right ok, so in mullet possible peddle strike in position 4 with 160mm cranks.... bump the fork to 180mm.... but then may blur the whole point in reducing stand over height.I should add, I previously done this on my Rocky slayer and it was awesome!
But that was more for park with minimal pedalling haha. Hence why I'd suggest getting shorter cranks for a pedally bike
Yeah mullet sits nicely in this image and with 180 fork throffen.... My old 2019 Norco sight copped a cracken decent hit cracked the motor casing butchering bearings.... but it seems it can be rebuilt, some liquid alloy new bearing, news arrived for me today...Well, turns out the misso's bike rear wheel fits.
BB drops from 340mm to 330. I left it in pos 2.

It's definitely a heavy bike. The A70 is around 26kg, it's noticeably heavier than my alloy e160. But you don't really feel that on the trail.
The difference in weight is about 1.5kg between the a70/c70.
I can't comment if the 2 have different ride characters, I chose alloy for its durability
Yeah I only notice the weight difference putting it on my vertical bike stand and when trying to get shape off a jump. Both just require different technique haha. Thanks for the info Rob. I suspect my E160, being carbon may even widen that weight gap. It's probably only something i'd notice lifting it in and out of the van. However the trails i ride are steep and tight, rather than fast and flowing, so slow speed maneuverability is where i worry about the weight factor. I did think about downsizing as a mitigating option for this. If only there was more availability to demo and get my hands on one in Scotland. It's a lot of money to spend blindly, but if the reviews are anything to go by it may be worth the punt....
Dropped into one of my local Rocky stores today with the goal of pre-ordering. I was originally told they were all sold out. But I saw a nice new A70 sitting there. I asked about it, and they said a guy wanted it two weeks ago, but hadn't paid a deposit, and they haven't heard from him since. Said I could have it! Popped a pair of pedals on it, and took it for a spin. Felt good, and with a few mods I think it will be a really good fit. Ordered a few upgrades which should be ready in a few weeks and then I get to collect! Really looking forward to 720 Wh battery and 108nM motor.
I do already have a Commencal Meta SX Power, but I finally admitted to myself recently that it's too big for me. It's a great bike, but if it's too big, then it's too big... I also have a Decoy, which is smaller and fits me much better. Each time I'd ride the Commencal and then the Decoy I'd notice the difference more and more.
I've had Rocky bikes in the past, but not a Rocky ebike. Looking forward to being a member of the club again! Especially as Rocky are a local company.
The bike looks really well put together and the specs are very good and competitive with much higher priced bikes like Specialized and Santa Cruz.
I definitely prefer the A70 over the Meta. The Commencal is too heavy in the backend, but it doesn't help its too big for me. I used to prefer larger size analog bikes, but with the ebikes I'm preferring the smaller sizes.I ridden your A70 yet and if so how does it compare to your Commencal?
Which year is your commencal and what sizes do you have?
I have a YT Capra 2016 large and a Commencal Meta SX Power 2021 also large and the capra is more fun for me than the Commencal, so I also think my Commencal is to large and was also considering a powerplay. I am a bit disappointed that they didn't made a setting for mullet on the powerplay.

I contacted Rocky, and they said with the regular Altitude it's ok to run it as a mullet, but the motor is tuned for a 29" wheel so it's best to leave it as a 29'er.
Large for the Commencal and Medium for the A70What size Commencal do you have and what size A70?
