May I ask what’s best on the rear ? I have my sag sat at 25% on the Rockshox super delux coil (stock set up on the XT build ) ….

If you set the sag correctly and have that much unused travel try removing all of your tokens.
Do we know how many are in from stock ? I read it was 3 … if so would you recommend removing all of them still or just 2 ? I want it to be plush and get to use the travel but don’t want it to bottom. As it is stock it was more of a harsh feeling that concerned me

Mine came with 3 from stock and i recently added a fourth, because in some landings it was hitting the bottom.

hey guys !
stoked new Bullit owner here !
after riding my local trials etc I find I could do with the forks being a little plusher if I’m honest , set the sat stood up in attack position at 51mm (30% of 170) and I’ve got a fair bit of travel left…. What’s the best setting for a plush feel and to use more travel ? Anyone tried playing with the tokens ?
Any help would be mega ⚡

What is your rider weight and what pressure are you using?

Yes, couldn't agree more on the Bullit. Having said that, sometimes more generically, is your (@Motohawk75 ) weight sometimes a little behind where it should be as you ‘weight’ the fork in all the ways that happens? If so, are you at the same time finding you’re using nearly all the air can travel when you have air can sag set at 20-25%? I found this was an indication I wasn’t always keeping central in the Bullit when I thought I was. Fixing that not only improved my riding balance and pace, but also decreased what you’re finding. Still, either way, take a token (and then the second) out of the fork ?
I'd remove both tokens and aim for no more than 25% sag. At 30%, you're going to be sat in mid travel and it will feel worse .

There were 3 tokens in total , I’ve removed 2 leaving just 1 and set sag as approximately 22% ?

I have about the same rider weight, have 90psi (93psi recommended) and it feels really good, plush.
And just had to add another volume spacer so it doesn't bottom out sometimes...

Check if you have too much grease in the bottom of the air chamber.

Does seem strange …. I don’t have the tools to remove the air chamber unfortunately….

Also on the Rockshox coil I’ve ordered the next lighter spring (450) as I can’t get 30% sag as recommended with out having basically zero preload to the point that the collar / nut is barely in contact with the spring when I’m not on the bike

Steve Peat's Bullit at Maribor. I kind of start to wish that Bullit came with Fox DHX2 from factory to match the Fox 38. Also, I think Fox SLS spring would be quite a bit lighter than the one that comes with Super Deluxe Coil.

I'm 100kg and have 114psi with no tokens that gives 18% sag. I hit massive jumps and drops and only ever use 90-95% of available travel. Fox 38 are super slow and I've found I need loads more rebound than fox suggest . I run 7 LSR and 5 HSR at 114psi/100kg.

The fox 38 is a burly heavy hitting enduro fork, you shouldn't be bottoming out on local trails unless you're absolutely sending it.

170mm is a lot of travel , if you're using it all on less gnarly rides then your spring rate isn't correct.

Also, add a couple more clicks of LSR and HSR, it makes a huge difference on the 38 and will keep you out of mid travel on small stuff.

So I’m 80kgs in riding kit, I’ve dropped to 1 token and I think pressure is about 85psi to get me at 20% sag …whats best and what is the benefit to running no tokens ? Will it make the fork plusher with out any ?

this is where they ended up after my first hours riding with STD settings …. They just felt a tad harsh up the higher end of the travel where I had pushed them to.

I understand how it works as I’ve ridden mx and enduro for around 30 years but just wanted to know what to expect in terms of feeling and if the travel used in the pic is approximately what I should expect on some decent but basic fun trail / shoots / small jumps … in comparison my 160 zebs look like this after the same ride on my Rail 9 and they have a fantastic plush feeling with sag set at approximately 27.5%

Thanks. Well, I now think I’ve maybe brought my own prejudices to your mild-sounding trail description ? So, big humble revision by me (unusual ?). Throwing my prejudice out the window, I see you’re simply describing what it feels like when skilfully riding a decently set up Bullit over terrain that you describe in understated terms due to your wide experience. It may well be that you have the steed pretty much in it’s sweet spot ready for fine tuning for trails I wouldn’t attempt ??? Put another way, perhaps if you towed me through your local trail showing me lines and pace (and I didn’t end up in a tree?), my forks on my Bullit would look the same as yours ??

Battery fell out my Bullit today on a fairly rough trail, I ran it over aswell. Popped it back in after a quick clean and got it carefully home. Now I can't seem to remove the battery. Iv unscrewed the 4mm hex bolt behind the little rubber tab, but the battery is not for coming out at all, scared I'm going to break it trying to wedge it out so thought I'd ask for advise on here before I take it to LBS!

Should the battery just fall out with that hex bolt loosened?

Also should the rubber tab the hex bolt is behind not recover the hole once Allen bolt is removed, as mine doesn't and is leaving an open hole! Not ideal for riding in Scotland!

The 4mm bolt shouldn't turn more than 1/4 turn unless it's broken. There are numerous threads in this forum about that small lock breaking and then being unable to remove the battery. It was probably broken during the ride which allowed the battery to fall out. Now that it's back in the latch behind the 4mm bolt prevents removal until you can release it. Check for the threads where posters have used a small bent fork to release the battery. My Heckler had a small rubber plug to cover the access hole for the 4mm bolt.

It’s strange the heckler and bullit have different coatings under the battery I have invisible frame on both but clearly changes made

Hi guys, whats the best chain guide you recon for the bullit? Mine keeps on dropping evertime i jump a ramp.

Have you over tightened the screw?

I've sent mine off endless jumps and flats with no issues?

Maybe replace it like for like?
If it ain’t bust, it needs adjustment — either that or there’s sumat up with yer chain set (less likely) 👍

Ok, so the lack of informations on eta of my bike has proven mildly interesting.
My LBS hasn't got a scooby on when it might arrive, so I contacted Steve Chase at SC and asked him the simple question of when my bike might arrive. I didn't ask for specifics, just a ball park figure and this is the response I got:-

Hey Rich,

We are generally not accepting preorders per se, as all models are being built and shipped on an allocation basis. It could be your name is on a dealer's waitlist for that model to appear in their allocation?

I suppose it's possible an exception was made here -- if your dealer has a specific order number, I'd be glad to look into it.

I'm not that bothered and, by my reckoning, it'll be Spring before it comes, given the words from SC's CEO on Youtube a while back.. No worries on that front, i'm still enjoying my Trail Pistol and, as it's not here, I can't trash it riding my local trails this Winter season.

So, purely out of interest, anyone else here had any info on an ETA for their Bullit?

Need moar Bullit pics here... This is mine today! Managed 50km / 31 miles with 450m elev gain (it's pretty flat here) in eco mode (level 4 / 63nm) in 5 degrees celcius with 70% commuting and 30% trail riding. These are pretty powerful settings for eco mode, so pretty happy with the range. Also first real upgrade besides the tires: Super Alloy Racing (SAR) Enduro Light spring (500lb) for the Super Deluxe Coil - This is the enduro version of the same spring that Loris Vergier and the Trek DH team use. Saves 200g compared to the OEM spring if I remember correctly.
