New Nicolai with Pinion gearbox announced

Responses from Nicolai In regards to what rear wheel size - "Since we program the bike for a specific wheel size, you need to decide before purchase whether the bike will be a 29er or a mixed wheels bike. Switching between sizes is not easily possible." In regards to running a 65mm stroke...

How often do you do a full battery burn?

Fully drain about 10% of the time. Below 20% battery probably 85% of the time. Generally using a 50/50 mixture of trail and boost. Shorter rides (1-1.5 hours) I just use boost. I'd just use boost on all my rides if I wasn't worried about draining the battery. This is with a 700-750wh battery...

New Nicolai with Pinion gearbox announced

Is there an option to buy the mutators for a 27.5 rear wheel? Anyone know if the 1060 or 800 batteries will be options soon? Did I hear correctly that a 65mm stroke shock isn't a possibility cause the belt? 1000€ for shipping to the US, ouch

    New Stem suggestions

https://r2-bike.com/NEWMEN-Stem-Evolution-SL-3184-Aluminum-318-mm-6-40-mm# I've had a hard time finding a better lightweight stem for the price. And on their website it says "no restrictions on use."

    considering a rocky mountain ebike-questions

Hmm, kind of. You can adjust how the initial assist feels from -2 to +2. I think it should be programmed to feel like +2 as default. I have all my power levels set to +2. You can adjust 4 power levels to any amount you want from 0 to 100. The Dyname likes to be spun at a higher cadence compared...

Vorsprung Smashpot Hydraulic Bottom Out/Compression Settings

I'm running one on a Zeb Ultimate. When using the spring calculator, I used accurate inputs and inputs that were a bit more aggressive than my actual riding. Spat out the same number, which was the 55lbs/in spring. I found it to be too soft even with the HBO turned all the way in. Not enough...

    Voima Bosch Charger Connector

Ah, thanks. Didn’t realize there was a “standard” and a “smart” version. A lot of the local shops haven’t had the smart version.

    Voima Bosch Charger Connector

My charger was stolen, along with most of my gear, a lot of tools, etc. On an MTB road trip and the first night this happened. Huge bummer. All the Bosch chargers I’ve come across here in the US do not use the same male connector as what came with the bike. Can someone post what their connector...

What grips and saddle do you run?

ODI Elite Flow or Elite Pro grips. Elita One carbon saddle (from aliexpress), very light but still comfortable, but I'm not super picky about saddles. Chromag Overture is probably my fav saddle actually, but it just weighs so much more. Great for gripping it with your inner legs with its flat...

What tyres? The Ultimate Tyre Thread

E13 Grappler MoPo Enduro is my current favorite front tire. Will be trying a Tioga Edge 22 next, then a Vee Attack HPL. Also want to try the Vit Mazza. Wanted to give something other than an Assegai or DHR2 a go up front. Riding terrain is loose over hard, rocky/rooty.

    What bars do you run?

Been using an Ultimate USE Flow carbon 40mm rise bar for a few years now. Best combo of light (182 grams at 800mm) and cheap (<$80 on their website) from a reputable brand that I've come across.

Northern Colorado-E mnt bike trail access discussion

I wouldn't worry about it man. If mountain bikes in general are allowed on the trail then I ride them. Life is too short to worry about such nonsense, just go ride your bike. In 4 years of riding ebikes I maybe have gotten one or two comments total. In general, no one cares and/or people don't...

Not that weight is all that important, but Miranda carbon cranks are on sale and are very light. Been moving these from bike to bike and they'll go on the Voima.

    Magpeds

I prefer the Hustle Bike Labs pedals over the Magpeds. I like both though. If the Magpeds are a 7.5 or 8/10 then the HBL pedals are like a 9/10. Hustle are just a little better in every way other than weight. Listed weights - 750 grams (w/o pins) vs 477 grams (not sure about pins). To get the...

Nice! I've ordered one of those as well. Hard to beat EXT, I've had them on my past couple bikes. Have you ridden one yet?

    Pole Voima 190mm Travel EMTB

Has anyone experimented with offset shock bushings to bring down the BB or does it not seem necessary? Even with two the BB would still be considered high compared to other modern bikes. Maybe a happy medium between really high and "normal"? Think there would be enough bottom out clearance with...
