Hi Rob, with all the releases coming (Gen5,DJI,ZF,New Levo...),which i'm sure you rode by now, do you feel the new gen5 with same power/form factor/weight (+-) is lagging beyond significantly and would cause customers to skip bikes with the system, or is it still relevant and on the same level...

200-230wh per kg is where most modern batteries will be for my25 (Orbea and BH lead with 630wh at 2.7kg). The "new" Brose batteries where shown more than a year ago so I think tha't why they are bit lagging behind. I'm sure they will use an open system so each brand will have many options.

Would you rather choose a motor from a brand that had so many (unsolved) issues for 4 years or give a chance to another brand that you already work with and are happy with their product/service ? In any case, I'm not 100% sure they will use the new Mahle, but I am sure they have tested the new...

Who's comparing ? Mahle's sl motor is a 2kg+- motor meant to have lower torque from the beginning. If anything, the bump to 50nm and it being quieter on the same unit proves it was a solid motor all the time . It was never a full size motor detuned to lower nm so I really don't get your point ...

It was said here many times, the motor will be a Mahle, not Brose. Taking into account the endless number of Brose failed motors and the low numbers of failed Mahle motors on the SL's,it makes sense for Specialized to drop Brose. Time will tell...

A new bike always costs more than an older model, either due to a new frame design, new e-system or even new colors/spec. In the end nobody is forcing customers to buy the latest and greatest.

I am talking about 23/24 Most issues now are clutches. Can you give more insight on the new motor and which bike did you ride with it ?

Think about it from a commercial pov. Is there really a reason to develop another smaller battery? Bosch has 500/625 option for the gen 4 motor and I dont know any peaple that replaced their 750 with a 500 or even got another 500 as spare.

Do you know about any riders with 5 Bosch motors in 6 months? I have actual data about Bosch gen4 on a certain European brand and Brose On Levo's . It's not even close !!

Up till the recent batches of the 2.2. Main issues are clutches and some belts.Alot of high pitch up and down "whining" noises and after some time if not replaced total failure. I have real info (numbers) that indicates it's only a little more reliable than in the past. Also know the same issues...

Not resolved at all,still many (many) issues on the new motors (mainly know Levo motors). I know riders on their 5/6/7th motor on the new version. Regarding the new one,it may be a great motor,but in the end a bike brand need to pick it over other offerings that are maybe "safer" for them...

The question is if there will be any bike brands interested after what happened with the S mag. Also,the new ZF and DJI motors have the same or more power with less weight and smaller size ,so why use the Peak3 ?

Sram's choise to go with the most unreliable motor in the industry is one of the most crappy descisions the brand has ever made !! and this is the reason a year later you dont see any significant adoptation from bike brands. They are working on some exciting stuff for the future but I hear...
