I had a 2022 Reign E+2 and now a 2024 Reign E+1 and not a single issue with both of them. Yamaha motors are pretty reliable, but shit happens. A friend had the exact same issue as you and Giant had to replace the motor, it was replaced within a week.

You can throw in the Demo & Enduro in that analysis too, products are so old that people are forced to move away from Specialized even if they want to be loyal. Seems like there's no hurry to update their bikes right now even if they're losing sales.

The whole industry is rolling out new bikes with that blank plate. Bosch will most likely come up with a new screen and most of the bikes will already be compatible with it.

I'm pretty sure we'll see alu & carbon options from Giant for 2026. Lots of competitors are doing this strategy for their ebikes and it's working very well (Trek, Specialized). 2026 Giant models should be available OCT/NOV this year, so we're not that far away from seeing these new bikes along...
