I've always run an ant+ speed sensor on my mountain bikes as the gps can be flaky under trees etc. I haven't put one on the rise yet but I noticed last night the rise is measuring speed slightly under the wahoo, about 0.5 mph at 15mph. Might not seem much but it's notable... The Reckon is a low...
To be fair it's much easier crawling round on your knees maintaining the brakes and drivetrain than having the bike positioned nicely in front of you.... 😜😂
Lidl still have some bike stands in store at £29 (my local one did a couple of days ago anyway) - they aren't fancy but it works for my orbea and other bikes - if worried about the strength of them you could just use it to raise the back wheel.
Must admit it's annoying they seem to have sided with Garmin, I binned my Garmin and went Wahoo a few years ago and it's miles better! Speed and cadence would be very nice to have
My bike weighs about 7kg more than the non ebike version, I weigh about 95kg, so yeah I suspect there is some marketing and BS involved!!
"Buy our new fat bloke specific brake pads and rotors, higher power and longer lasting ceramic based pads, specially developed for people suffering from cake...
Was out on it again last night, loved it... It's fantastic!! So glad I didn't rush in and buy the Trek Rail that I'd been looking at for months or the Giant Trance.....
Orbea seem to be "under the radar" when it comes to presence....??
Absolutely great ride tonight, bike handles much better than I expected, performance of the motor (having not ridden an E before) was great for me, plenty of power (I don't want a motorbike). Suspension, brakes, shifting and the ergonomics are great (5'11" but with long legs, XL is perfect). I...
To be honest I'm not really sure, I've been biking for so long I have no conscious thought about it when I'm braking on the MTB :D If I had to make a statement in court I'd say probably 2 when I'm on a descent - just as I did when motorbiking or descending on the drops on the road/cross bike...
Just had my first ride, brakes were absolutely fine - i realise the resin pads might not last long, but not short of power or feel. Anyone reading this I'd really wait till you ride before you worry. I'm in the UK in the pennines, if you're in the Alps or the Rockys then of course you will...
No I mean sticking in the big rotor (with a post adaptor) and swapping to sintered pads using existing callipers on the front and see how the rears go....
I've just got mine today and they are centrelock.... I'll find out tomorrow if they are any good or not :)
Is it actually critical to stay on resin pads?? I'm in the pennines not the alps.... I have a 6 bolt 200mm hope rotor which I'm sure used sintered pads, a calliper adaptor and...
When I first got a full suss bike (15/20 years ago ) I got right into the brake thing, 220mm front, 200mm rear hopes, they were crap.... pain in the butt to bleed and needed it all the time!
I actually think I still have them in my crap parts bin... I did rummage in it to find my 200mm...
I'm 178cm ish but I measure the saddle from the centre of the crank to the top of saddle in line with the seat tube as 81cm, medium isn't even in the ball park!! I the shop I definitely felt more comfortable on the XL.....
Here are the L (grey) and the XL (orange) side by side with the saddle...
Sorry when I say XC I really mean anything except chucking yourself down a super steep hill with 4 foot drops and trying to create the biggest slow motion rooster trails, which sadly is what 80% of ebiking review videos seem to show all the time!! Flowing single track is my favourite really...
I do wonder if some of this is psychosomatic, my Nail Trail has low end 2 pot shimano brakes but they work really well and have never given me any bother. I think it weighs about 14kg - so in pure weight difference terms it's maybe 7kg difference to the Rise H30. I used to weigh about 85kg and...
I'm looking to switch my MTB to EMTB and have looked at a range of bikes, but finally landed on this! It looks ideal for me and tried an L and XL today and really think the XL is the one. I'm 5'11" but I've got pretty long legs, 88 inseam and ride with a top saddle height from centre of cranks...
